Since 1998 the academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Science A.A. Baranov heads Scientific center of health of children of the Russian Academy of Medical Science which under its management turned into the unique scientific and clinical organization owning all preventive, diagnostic and medical technologies contributing to the development of basic researches in studying of patterns of growth and development of an organism of the healthy and sick child and implementation in practice of health care of advanced methods of decrease in infantile death rate and to decrease in incidence and disability of the children's population of Russia.

Under the leadership of A.A. Baranov more than 80 doctors and candidates of medical sciences are prepared, more than 400 scientific works, including 45 monographs are published, there are Voprosy Sovremennoy Pediatrii, Rossiysky pediatrichesky zhurnal and Spravochnik pediatra magazines.

Three managements under A.A. Baranov's edition were included in the package of the editions "Biblioteka Pervichnoy Meditsinskoy Pomoshchi" published within implementation of the National Health project. This set of editions became the winner of the annual national tender "Book of Year 2006".
