Biography

Alexey Basov was born in 1977 in Moscow.

He began his career in 1999 at the Altermedia online advertising agency. In 2000, he became executive director of Spylog.

In 2002-2011, Alexei Basov was the co-founder and CEO of Runner, Manimail and a number of other Internet companies. Since 2004 - Director of the Internet Investment Department and Manager of the Information Technologies Fund of Finam Holding.

Since 2005, acts as a venture investor in a number of high-tech startups.

In 2011, he became vice president of the group of companies Mail.ru Group.

In 2013, he was appointed Vice President of Rostelecom OJSC, where he was engaged in the implementation of the company's strategy in the field of venture products, and also created and headed a corporate venture fund.

In 2014, he became a co-founder of New Cloud Technologies.

Winner of professional prizes and awards, author of a monograph (co-authored), a large number of publications on information technology and venture capital investment.

Transition to work at Rostelecom

In March 2013, Alexei Basov was appointed vice president of Rostelecom. In this position, he is responsible for implementing the company's strategy in the field of Internet products.

In March 2016, the 7% share of New Cloud Technologies, owned by Alexei Basov, passed to the largest shareholder of the company - Andrei Cheglakov. Leaving Rostelecom

On August 7, 2017, it became known about the departure of Alexei Basov from Rostelecom. He resigned as vice president, moving to the post of adviser to the president of the company, but by August 1 he left this post. During four years of work at Rostelecom, a top manager oversaw the launch and development Internetsearcher "Satellite" of the company, as well as the company's corporate venture capital fund.[1]

According to Rostelecom, Alexei Basov will continue to carry out a number of projects in the company, but will focus on initiatives outside the company. Its functionality was distributed among other leaders. So, part of the powers was transferred to the vice president of Rostelecom Boris Glazkov, who was appointed to this post on July 18. In turn, the responsibilities for creating partnerships with innovative companies and overseeing the development of digital services were transferred to Alexander Aivazov, who became vice president of the operator at the end of June 2017.
