Margaret "Mag" Uitmen (engl. Margaret Cushing 'Meg' Whitman) is the American manager, the candidate for governors of California of Republican Party in elections of 2010. During the period from 1998 to 2008 headed eBay company, since 2011 directed Hewlett-Packard corporation, since 2015 - the head of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise.

Biography

Was born on August 4, 1956 in New York. In 1977 received the bachelor's degree on economy in Princeton University, in 1979 - degree of the Master of Business Administration at the Harvard business school.

Worked at managerial positions in the companies Procter & Gamble, Bain & Company The Walt Disney Company, directed Florists' Transworld Delivery company (the large company on trade in flowers).

1998-2008: Head of eBay

From 1998 to 2008 Whitman was the CEO and the president of eBay company and was a part of its Board of Directors.

On a wave of a boom of dotcoms Whitman was succeeded to amass a billion fortune.

As of 2010 took the fourth place in the list of the richest women of California with private means of $1.3 billion. At this time Meg Whitman holds the 285th place of rating of 400 richest people of the USA of Forbes and also the 18th line in the rating of 100 most influential women of the world prepared by the same edition.

2010: Loss of $140 million on elections in governors of California

In 2010 Whitman became the candidate for governors of California of Republican Party, but did not manage to win. This campaign cost it $140 million own means.

2011-2015: Head of HP

In September, 2011 it is appointed the CEO of Hewlett-Packard.

On November 21, 2017 the CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE)  Meg Whitman announced resignation after six years of the management of the American IT corporation. Its place will be taken on February 1, 2018 by the president of HPE Antonio Neri.

2019: Purchase of a share in football club "Cincinnati"
