2019: BitTorrent begins to use a blockchain platform for forward video broadcastings

At the end of August, 2019 the large file hosting service of BitTorrent belonging to a cryptocurrency startup of Tron announced use of a blockchain platform for forward video broadcastings. The technology found application in BitTorrent Live service, is reported the official blog of the project.

According to the published message, the BitTorrent Live platform (BLive) supports video broadcasting in real time and service of instant messaging. Besides, a basic system contains the top chart of users and function of interaction between them.

BitTorrent started use of the strimingovy platform on a blockchain

BitTorrent is going to release a blockchain version of BLive and to use it during the period from the third quarter 2019 on the first quarter of the 2020th. The small user group for internal testing of the platform is connected to development of the solution, and developers continue to implement new features by the end of August, 2019.

The platform also supports several different payment methods and money withdrawal, including bitcoin also cryptocurrency BitTorrent (BTT), with the zero transaction commission. For an output and account replenishment a number of third-party services is also used, including PayPal Google Wallet Android Pay Apple Pay, WeChat and Alipay.

BLive also supports modules of earnings and gifts for active users. They will be rewarded by tokens of BTT for maintenance, creation of content and planning of actions. Besides, users can buy gifts using BTT and send them to creators of content who, in turn, will be able to convert gifts back into BTT.

Though BLive exists since 2012, and during this time the basic program basis of the solution cardinally changed. Initially BLive served as the protocol of content delivery without emphasis on function of social networks. However creators refused the first version of BLive after unsuccessful fund raising.[1]
