2020: 3 billion rubles of investments into Data Cloud development

On October 12, 2020 Russian Post announced investment of 3 billion rubles into development of the single Data Cloud information and analytical platform collecting and integrating all data which the mail operator faces. The specified means are going to be spent within several years for quality improvement of data, their accumulation and processing.

On October 12, 2020 Russian Post connected to Data Cloud of the logistic partner of AliExpress Cainiao Network therefore the companies began to exchange data directly.

Integration helped to lower a share of not delivered goods from 10% to 3-5%, and delivery date to the largest cities decreased almost by one and a half times, told in Russian Post. As it is specified in the press release, Cainiao delivers more than 90% of all orders of AliExpress in the world - it is about 2 million orders a day from which 25% are the share of the Russian market.

Due to data analysis Russian Post began to see a logistic problem not only when the user, but also in a pro-active mode reports about it. So-called data marts allow to mark and select goods of AliExpress and to control a delivery quality.

Improvement of a delivery quality of goods – a bright example of how the responsible attitude to data is capable to work for the benefit of people — the CEO of Russian Post Maxim Akimov says. — Care of the client – a necessary condition of formation of Mail as reference logistic partner for the Russian and international industry of Internet trade. We are sure that the most correct way of achievement of this purpose lies through digitalization of the existing processes and creation new, initially based on data.

Cainiao Network is going to invest in development of IT platforms and localization of business in the Russian Federation more than 1 billion rubles in 2020.^[1]
