Data Domain Cloud Tier is technology for work with cloud storages on Data Domain devices.

On October 26, 2016 the Dell EMC company announced release of the solution Dell EMC Data Domain with support a flash technologies and cloud levels of storage.

Use of Dell EMC Data Domain technology, according to the statement of the company, increases the total amount of data which can be managed by means of one device by 200%. The maximum logical capacity at the same time reaches 150 PB.

In the Data Domain family four models are provided:

• DD6300,
• DD6800,
• DD9300
• DD9800.

DD6300 and the others – class devices "all-water", created especially for small and average IT infrastructures. DD6800, DD9300 and DD9800 systems have the increased capacity and functionality, providing high data availability.

Application a flash memory increases quality of work of users of a virtual environment. In combination with the software of Dell EMC Avamar the Data Domain family can provide access to the protected virtual machines 20 times faster. Users can load virtual machines, using the available protected copy of the file of the virtual machine directly from Data Domain, instead of preliminary recovery of virtual machines in the main storage.
