2019: Development of the system of the mobile tracker of eyes of EyeRay

On October 23, 2019 TAdviser knew that the staff of laboratory of wave processes of MIPT and laboratory of the neuroroboequipment of MIPT together with Neyrobotiks Group developed the system of the mobile tracker of eyes EyeRay. The device reminds normal points which frame cameras and LEDs are built in. Trackers of such class are used generally in marketing researches, sport and the game industry. EyeRay cost three times cheaper than foreign analogs, at the same time, in addition to standard functionality, have a possibility of connection with neuroheadsets for the assistivny help to people with motor dysfunctions.

The main objective of any systems of an aytreking is tracking behind movement of eyes, fixing of localization of a delay (tendency) of a look and duration of these fixings. Visual sensation of information plays a major role in life of each person having such potential and how we look at the world, seriously is reflected in behavior. Stationary trackers of eyes have narrower application (for assessment of a usability of the websites, passing of computer tests, etc.), the mobile gadgets which are not binding investigated to the computer and "workplace" are necessary for the majority of applications.

The mobile tracker of eyes EyeRay is equipped with 3 cameras: frontal ("camera scene") with permission of FHD is directed forward, it fixes what the person looks at, 2 other cameras are located under the left and right eye (images from these cameras serve for direction finding of a look for each eye). 12 IK-LEDs by which geometry of reflection gaze direction is determined (for each eye), special algorithms are built evenly in a frame calculate gaze direction on the basis of model of an iris of the eye. Accuracy of determination of a look is 0.7 degrees.

The systems of tracking of eyes are widely applied in marketing researches and sport, for example, to define preferences of users upon purchase of goods in shops or advertizing efficiency placed on street billboards.

In sport similar gadgets allow to investigate differences of processes of visual sensation of athletes with high rates from nonprofessionals, to explain to the beginner how to increase the efficiency. For example, in the analysis of a game of baseball players, it turned out that good beating off does not look at flight of a ball, and watches dynamics of the movement of a hand throwing to predict a trajectory of the movement of a ball. Fairly it with the specifics and for other sports (single and group).

The import systems from SensoMotoric Instruments GmbH (SMI) and Tobii companies dominate in the Russian market, their cost begins from 10 thousand euros, and purchase is available only to the organizations with the large volume of financing. Sales of the EyeRay gadget in the first months are available on special conditions, further the price will be 3 thousand euros.
