Integration of industrial conveyor line in Kazan with ConsID WMS

The logistic center ETM Kazan in launched an industrial conveyor line, integrated with a warehouse management system. The ConsID WMS company Concid Technologies (ConsID) announced this on January 22, 2021.

ConsID WMS was introduced at the ETM logistics center in Kazan in 2018. At the next stage of warehouse logistics automation, ETM together with COMITAS installed a conveyor line inside a 5-level mezzanine with an area of ​ ​ 3500 sq.m. It automatically moves boxes and containers between mezzanine levels for picking orders and then sorts them along 16 routes. The total line capacity for January 2021 is up to 800 boxes per hour.

The pipeline through the gateway is integrated with the warehouse management system ConsID WMS. From WMS, the order pickers at each level (floor) of the mezzanine receive tasks for selection. Selection by the picker is carried out within its floor in a numbered container using a mobile terminal.

Upon completion of the selection on the floor from the WMS, information is sent to the conveyor about the movement of the container either to the other floor of the mezzanine for the next stage of the selection, or to the sorting line. WMS calculates the weight of the container by directory and the route of its movement along one of the 16 conveyor shipping lines. At the exit of the mezzanine, the assembly is controlled by dynamic weights, in case of discrepancies with the parameters calculated by WMS, the container is moved to the control area for subsequent inspection and picking for shipment in directions.

The adaptability of the WMS ConsID made it possible to quickly set up new business processes of the warehouse and fully use the functionality of the automated conveyor line while maintaining the continuity of the logistics complex and the pace of shipments.

As a result of the launch of the conveyor line, the increase in the productivity of order pickers in the mezzanine area amounted to more than 50%. Increasing the number of mezzanine levels from 3 to the introduction of the conveyor to 5 has significantly increased the capacity of the warehouse. The staffing number of recruits decreased by 36%.

Introduction of a control system of the warehouse ConsID WMS in the logistic center in Moscow (Kotelniki)

On March 31, 2020, the company ConsID announced the completion of the implementation of the warehouse management system ConsID WMS at the logistic distributor center of electrical products in (ETM To Moscow Kotelniki). The area of the automated warehouse is 10,000 sq.m. This is the eighth object of the logistics network of ETM, which is managed by ConsID. WMS

Part of the storage area in Kotelniki is equipped with the Sensorlink automated storage complex (ASK), which provides storage of goods in containers on racks without access to them by personnel. As part of the project integration , WMS with ASK was ConsID. When carrying out operations of acceptance, the ConsID WMS system by the set rules appoints places of storage of goods, the goods are distributed in the numbered containers and - it is transported robot the piler to places of storage. At selection of goods of ConsID WMS forms tasks with calculated on to algorithm number of a container and goods, transfers a task in ASK. The stacker robot automatically locates and moves the specified container from the storage location to the consolidation area. Next, the employee, in accordance with the information mobile terminal, selects the required quantity of goods for the formation of the order. In the consolidation area, a shipment location is simultaneously selected and generated for shipment.

In the rest of the warehouse ConsID WMS operates all operations according to already implemented standards and on other distribution centers of logistic network. ETM warehouses are characterized by a high intensity of shipments, a huge assortment of goods and various zones of storage and processing of goods (pallet, floor, mezzanine, zone of storage and cutting of cable products). ConsID WMS provides flexible movement control in warehouses, ensures optimal loading of space in all storage areas, high speed and accuracy of selection and shipments, including consolidation of orders. A feature of ETM warehouses is also the work with measuring goods - cable products, where ConsID WMS has also proved its effectiveness.

The Kotelniki warehouse uses 90 licenses for data collection terminals and 15 licenses for the web application.

Introduction of a control system of the warehouse ConsID WMS in the logistic center in Rostov-on-Don

On August 12, 2019, ConsID announced that it had automated the ETM logistics center with an area of ​ ​ 12,000 square meters in Rostov-on-Don. The total area of logistic infrastructure of ETM operated by ConsID WMS is more than 100,000 sq.m.

Previously, the warehouse was managed by the RadioBeacon system, the functionality of which was limited to supporting basic warehouse operations with piece and box products. The processing of transactions with cable products was carried out in a self-recording system using suboptimal algorithms, which significantly complicated the process and increased the time for shipping goods to warehouse customers. With the introduction of WMS ConsID, the process of selecting cable products has significantly accelerated - cable cutting is carried out immediately after the creation of a task in WMS, and then transferred to the consolidation zone. In addition to reducing the time spent on operations, it was possible to significantly optimize the use of storage space in the cable area.

The volume of delivery of WMS ConsID in the warehouse in Rostov-on-Don is 110 licenses for data collection terminals and 15 licenses for the web application.

WMS Selection Criteria

Having experience with the warehouse management system, and knowing the specifics of the warehouse using the WMS system, ETM specialists very carefully approached the issue of choosing a solution for automation.

Due to the complex specifics of working in warehouses with cable and electrical products, none of the presented WMS fully covered all requirements set by the Customer. Therefore, one of the defining conditions of cooperation was the full support of WMS for all declared requirements and the possibility of further development and support of the system on its own.

The OHE.WMS warehouse management system, which is designed on the basis of the open OHE.Engine platform and comes with development tools that allow you to quickly adapt solutions to the required business processes without programming and recompiling code, has fully responded to the requirements of ETM.

WMS Implementation Technology

Due to the short terms of WMS implementation, it was decided to jointly implement the software product by the Customer's specialists and Consid Technologiya specialists. This approach will reduce the project budget and increase the degree of participation of the Customer's company in the development of the final solution and reduce the time for transferring the finished solution to the Customer.

The complex project was completed in record time in 3 stages in 3.5 months.

The first stage was adapted and configured business processes of acceptance and placement for standard electro-technical and cable products. As a result, following the results of 1.5 months of tight collaboration, the main business processes were agreed, the exchange interface was set up, and the business processes of acceptance and placement of goods in the warehouse of all categories of goods were launched. The planned filling of the new regional warehouse with products has started using the OHE.WMS warehouse management system.

The second stage started the start of the business processes of replenishment, selection and shipment. The transition to OHE.WMS was carried out gradually along with the filling of the warehouse with inventory and an increase in the intensity of shipments, the running of all processes and the training of warehouse employees. Two weeks after the start of shipments, complex processes of extraction (with cutting in the production area) and shipment of cable products were launched.

The third stage began setting up and refining tasks that were postponed to the stage after the warehouse was put into operation: rules for compressing the warehouse, implementing the task of internal-warehouse unwinding of cable products, setting up the inventory.

The automation project focuses on:

  • Warehouse acceptance processes sorted by pallet type with due regard to compatibility rules: pallets for placement in storage areas and pallets for replenishment of different selection areas.
  • Manage the processing of cable products on reels of various diameters with support for operations: rewinding, cable cutting, acceptance and counting of empty reels
  • Job management for different types of loading equipment with different access to storage areas and high-altitude operation
  • Management of the mezzanine, the high-altitude commissioning zone, the area of distribution of reels for winding cable products under orders, the area of ​ ​ rewinding cable products on machines, etc.
  • Flexible working mechanisms when placing, moving (compacting), replenishing in the warehouse. Move pallets in multiple steps and through buffer cells. When a job is taken for execution, the characteristic is automatically determined according to the specified rules for moving the pallets entirely to the warehouse address or delivering pallets to the selection zones
  • Control of Shipping Modules: formation for inspection, movement, disbandment, shipment. The inspection picking modules are formed from different packs/boxes of different orders of the same direction.


In 2016, the Consid Technologies company completed a project to automate the regional distribution center of the company's Electro-technical materials in the city of Shushary.
