Bought Amazon 20 thousand Mercedes cars for new service

At the beginning of September, 2018 the Amazon company announced purchase at Mercedes-Benz about 20 thousand cars which will be used in new service of the American Internet company — Delivery Service Partner.

It is about the affiliate program within which Amazon hands over in  leasing to entrepreneurs  of the machine with the logo and a uniform for personnel in order that those were engaged in the goods delivery, purchased on Amazon. This service is intended to increase order processing and to weaken dependence of Amazon on the mail operator in the USA and also the large logistic companies.

The Amazon company purchased 20 thousand Mercedes Sprinter vans, and this order became the largest for this model, reported in Daimler concern (owns a brand of Mercedes-Benz). Vans will be collected and brought into operation within a year.

By the beginning of September, 2018 of Amazon completed training of several partners for the new program. For launch it is going to attract about 500 companies though the online retailer received "tens of thousands" of applications for participation in an initiative.

We expected great interest, but we are simply shocked that how many people — tens of thousands of people — underwent complete process of application and check stages reached — the senior vice president of Amazon Dave Clark told the The Wall Street Journal newspaper.

In June, 2018 announced Amazon that the company will for the first time offer entrepreneurs an opportunity to create  delivery companies of sendings with  staff of  100 drivers and  20-40 vans in  leasing. Then the retailer was going to order 4500 cars, however as a result with Mercedes-Benz the delivery contract four times more vehicles because of great interest to service was signed.

About purchase was in the opening day of the new plant Mercedes-Benz in South Carolina (USA) on which Sprinter began to be made. $500 million^[1] were invested in this enterprise]
