2019: Agreement on creation of a monitoring system of the movement of pilotless transport

RVC and Mostransproyekt signed the partnership agreement within the final of the technology tender Up Great "Winter City". Competitions with prize fund of 175 million rubles are directed to creation of the unmanned vehicle for severe weather conditions of the Russian winter, reported in October 21, 2019 in RVC company.

Especially for final tests of "The winter city" Mostransproyekt will create a monitoring system of the movement of pilotless vehicles of finalists on a polygon of the Center of tests of NAMI. Each UAV will be equipped with independent trackers which will allow to monitor the movement of vehicles with a high accuracy. Data on passing of a route from trackers will be visualized on screens in the Center of monitoring. Thus, the audience will be able to watch final arrival in real time, and judges — to estimate the passable distance on route.

Creation of high-precision cards and their support in current status is one of technology obstacles which overcoming will allow to create Command center pilotless transport. Such center will allow "smart" roads to operate the vehicles. Tests in the conditions of the winter city will allow to recreate the most difficult conditions. After this tender Command center by pilotless transport it will be possible to adapt for city conditions — the director of Scientific Research Institute Mostransproyekt Alexander Polyakov told.

For start of the market of pilotless transport it is not enough to have the car as a physical entity. Still the infrastructure providing its movement in actual practice is necessary. The tender "Winter City" is not completed yet, but one of its indisputable results already was formation in Russia of community of experts from different areas which it is interested and professionally participate in creation of a safe, effective and comfortable system of city mobility based on the latest technologies — the CEO of RVC Alexander Povalko noted.

The final of the tender Up Great "Winter City" will take place on December 10, 2019 on a polygon of the Center of tests by "us" in the Moscow region. On the platform difficult conditions of city winter will be imitated: the bad marking, low visibility of road signs, a sleet and snow drifts and also are recreated movements of pedestrians and other cars.

Five commands will take part in tests: BaseTrack, StarLine, the Winter city of Moscow Administrative Road Inspectorate, a command of the Nizhny Novgorod state technical university and ABTO-PTK (the combined team of Scientific design office of computing systems and Onboard Intelligent Systems company from Taganrog, SFU and YuZGU). The winner will become the command whose UAV will be able to break a technology barrier — to pass 50 km on winter roads quicker than in three hours, following at the same time traffic regulations. Prize fund of tender is 175 million rubles.

The competitions Up Great are organized by RVC, Skolkovo Foundation and ASI for the purpose of implementation of the National technology initiative and directed to overcoming global technology barriers in the perspective markets of NTI.
