History
2022: Company denies resuming deliveries of machinery to Russia
Kyocera resumed the supply of equipment to Russia against the background of the continuation of the special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. This was announced in December 2022 at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The agency, as its representative told RBC, excluded the Kyocera printers because of the list of goods allowed for import under the parallel import scheme (that is, without the permission of the copyright holder).
Where exactly the sale of Kyocera products began, the Ministry of Industry and Trade did not specify. Journalists of the publication found equipment under the Kyocera brand, in particular, on the sites DNS, M.Video-Eldorado and Citylinka.
Kyocera itself has denied the resumption of supplies to Russia.
According to ITResearch, Kyocera is one of the leaders in the printer market. At the end of 2021, it accounted for 10% of the market (HP Inc. - 36%, Pantum - 16%, Canon - 10%). After the company refused to supply to Russia, Kyocera printers, following the products of HP, Xerox, Canon, Epson and other manufacturers, were included in the list of goods allowed for parallel import by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The representative of Marvel Distribution told RBC that Kyocera continues only the supply of consumables - the company "has long stopped supplying equipment," and "all that appears on the Russian market is the result of parallel imports."
According to the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, by December 2022 "the issue of the shortage of consumer electronics goods is not worth it," which "is confirmed not only by data from retailers, but also by printer manufacturers." According to the department, citing data from manufacturers, the volume of printer production in Russia has grown more than 5 times since the beginning of the year.
After the start of the military special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, a number of foreign printer manufacturers either suspended the supply of equipment to Russia or left the market. Among them are Xerox, Canon, HP Inc. and Lexmark.[2]

2011
Increased presence in the Russian market
According to independent research (September 2011), monochrome multifunctional devices (MFPs) of the A3 format based on unique durable technologies allowed KYOCERA MITA to increase its presence in the Russian market and bring it to second place in this segment.
Opening an office in Moscow
On September 27, 2011, Kyocera Mita Corporation announced the opening of a new trading company in Moscow. Officially, the company will begin work in October 2011. Already in October, the new trading company will begin to create a sales structure that can facilitate the sale of products within existing sales channels. Thanks to its own warehouses, the company will increase the volume of product supplies in Russia, expand sales and maintenance programs. Company capital: 100 000 000 rubles
With the development of the IT infrastructure, companies are beginning to feel an increasing need for compact and reliable equipment with low operating costs and easy access to the network environment. Thus, it is expected that sales of low total cost of ownership (SALT) A4 printers and MFPs of A4 format based on ECOSYS technology will multiply.
That is why in early 2012 KYOCERA MITA entered the Russian market with a specially developed model for the fast-growing SOHO market, which will allow all users to appreciate the advantages of ECOSYS technology. KYOCERA MITA plans to introduce a wide range of A4 and A3 format products on the Russian market and expand its business through a full-scale offensive on the A4 format devices market.
The new trading company KYOCERA MITA has three goals:
The first goal is to strengthen distribution channels. The territory of Russia is so large that it is not possible for the corporation to cover the entire country with its own network of companies. That is why KYOCERA MITA will develop distribution channels with the support of distributors and dealerships, with which the company has built strong relations over the years of cooperation.
The second goal is to increase brand awareness. Due to reliable technologies and durable components, KYOCERA MITA products are convenient to operate. Thus, KYOCERA MITA printers can work for a long period of time, since only toner can be replaced. In order for the unique ECOSYS technology to become widely known in the promising Russian market, it is necessary to increase brand recognition. Therefore, along with the opening of a new trading company, KYOCERA MITA will pursue an active advertising policy.
The third goal is to promote goods such as services and document management systems. Taking advantage of a balanced product line of printers and MFPs, the company plans to strengthen its position among Russian government agencies and large corporations. In order to develop the infrastructure, KYOCERA MITA employees will conduct educational seminars for dealers who are members of the technical support program.
"We are very happy to open a trading company in this promising market," said Uchikura Masakazu, a representative of KYOCERA MITA. "Now we will be able to develop sales channels more efficiently, as well as improve the quality of service to Russian customers. In addition, we will be able to increase brand awareness and more effectively educate the user about the benefits of the unique ECOSYS technology. "
Kyocera Mita announced that from April 2012 the official name of the company will be Kyocera Document Solutions. The name change reflects the company's development as a global provider of cost-effective, innovative and sustainable solutions. The new name Kyocera Document Solutions reflects the evolution of the company towards an organization that simultaneously supplies hardware, software and services. The name change is a confirmation that the company is committed to its customers in the desire to streamline their communication flows, increase productivity, reduce costs and simplify everyday tasks, Kyocera says.
2009
In May 2009, a representative office of the company was opened, performing the following tasks: studying the Russian market, supporting partner sales programs and conducting marketing activities.
