"780 Repair plant of technical means of ship navigation" started equipment of the svetooptichesky devices installed on sea buoys, coastal navigation signs and beacons, special modules based on GLONASS. A main goal of implementation of the innovative technologies is reliability augmentation of aids to navigation and secured provision of safety of navigation. The project will be performed at technical support of GLONASS Northwest company.

JSC 780 Remontny zavod tekhnicheskikh sredstv korablevozhdeniya logs in the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, is engaged in development, production and service maintenance of aids to navigation for navigation security.

"Operability of aids to navigation guarantees accuracy in orientation of boats, so safety of their following. Use of GLONASS technologies opens before us new opportunities for remote control and continuous condition monitoring and location of sea buoys, coastal navigation signs, electric navigation lamps" — the development director of JSC 780 Remontny zavod tekhnicheskikh sredstv korablevozhdeniya Denis Bukhov reports.

The system of remote control of sea navigation equipment offered by GLONASS Northwest company has no analogs in Russia. Forms its basis – the special module (transponder) – unique development of engineers of the company. The transponder is installed on a controlled object, accepts signals of satellite GLONASS systems and GPS and transfers the acquired information on networks of mobile operators to a dispatcher station. Distinctive feature of the equipment – midget energy consumption (in standby mode about 1 mA). The device passed a number of serial tests, its quality and reliability confirms

Certificate of conformity of GOST.

"Thanks to information arriving from modules GLONASS, the operator will see in real time on the electronic card quantity of operational aids to navigation, their exact coordinates. For example, if the lamp fails or the buoy will deviate the set location, the operator will be able to take measures for the notification of courts about fault of navigation aids — the director of the company of GLONASS Northwest Matyash Artem notes — Thanks to time synchronization of navigation lamps on satellite signals for the first time there was an opportunity to configure their work in the mode of "the running track". Lighting up consistently one after another, lamps will specify a way to the vessel, it will provide convenience of orientation and additional safety of navigation".

In the long term navigation modules based on GLONASS can be used also for collecting of meteorological information (data on temperature, humidity, pressure, etc.) that, in turn, will allow to build forecasts and to warn timely vessels about weather conditions in this or that water area.
