2014: Sayzing of RS-Bank V.6
On January 24, 2014 the R-Style Softlab company announced development of new methodology for carrying out the automated sayzing on the RS-Bank V.6 platform.
As the testing machine the company uses own solution RS-ATM. The new technology platform and the created scenarios allow simulation of at the same time performed operations of tens of thousands of bank operators working with a system.
The trial testing held by specialists of R-Style Softlab confirmed efficiency of methodology and low resource requirements: for work reproduction more than 1 thousand users are enough one average on the server options of loading. At the same time at one workstation about 50 different scenarios of real business processes of bank can steadily be executed.
Testing of the core banking system is necessary for banks at a stage of the choice of the software product or hardware-software platform. The procedure of a sayzing helps:
- estimate efficiency of a system in the conditions reproducing real loading of bank
- pick up an optimal hardware and software system for successful interaction of all IT infrastructure with a system
- manage her behavior and increase performance due to adding of additional elements in the operating hardware and software system configurations.
"If representatives of credit institutions appeal to us to test with a large number of users and to develop an individual profile of loading, we are ready to make it. No additional hardware, except several load servers, will be required", – Lev Frenkel, the technical director of the department of development of RS-Bank of R-Style Softlab company noted. - The Sayzing based on the analysis of behavior of a large number of users and variation of loading is especially important before product introduction for automation of retail business and settlement and cash services as the greatest number of bank employees work with these applications. In our company these directions are provided by the solutions RS-Retail and RS-Banking".
2012: Release of RS-Application Testing Machine
R-Style Softlab announced release of a versatile tool of record and reproduction of events of RS-Application Testing Machine (RS-ATM) in April, 2012. Due to new functionality users and administrators of the automated banking system of RS-Bank will have an opportunity to write the files scripts containing the detailed description of the sequence of the operations performed in a system. In an effect the script can be reproduced and in accuracy to simulate actions of the user which that made at record of a script.
Thanks to RS-ATM at an operational phase of the systems of the company the efficiency of testing considerably will increase. What will allow to reach the new level of technology maintenance the core banking system and to minimize the potential risks arising upon transition to new versions of RS-Bank.
The universal RS-ATM mechanism is also supposed to be used for information transfer about the sequence of actions which led to emergence of an error in the core banking system, from employees of the bank to specialists of department of support of the company for faster and exact diagnostics of errors in a system.
Basic opportunities of RS-ATM — record and reproduction of scenarios are at the moment implemented. The new functionality will be available in the third assembly of the automated banking system of RS-Bank v.5.5 and also in the 31st assembly of RS-Bank V.6. We aim to consider wishes and needs of users of our products therefore made the decision to include this functionality in a basic distribution kit of a system. Until the end of 2012 all banks having the current agreement on maintenance will be able to use the RS-ATM tool free of charge.
Further it is going to expand considerably functionality of a system, including, at the expense of such option as monitoring. Thanks to it it will be possible to measure parameters of any action made in a system and to receive by them the report directly in a script body (for example, by the number of the processed records or objects of a system, results of performing procedures). Afterwards these data will be available to the analysis and can be used for identification of errors when comparing with earlier written reference scripts within carrying out regression testing.
