The city administration of Yekaterinburg includes the IT structure in the system of interdepartmental electronic interaction

The Softline company successfully completed the complex project on preparation of IT infrastructure of City administration of Yekaterinburg for connection to the system of interdepartmental electronic interaction (SIEI).

Start

One of tasks of administration of Yekaterinburg - transfer of municipal services to an electronic form according to Federal law No. 210-FZ of 7/7/2010. "About the organization of providing the public and municipal services". The administration of Yekaterinburg needs to be connected to SIEI in 2012. For implementation of it it was required to prepare IT infrastructure.

Based on the carried-out competitive procedures the Softline company is approved. In addition to the evidence of professional competence, Softline proposed the most profitable solution on the price.

Solution

The project task consisted in complete reconstruction of a core infrastructure for 1500 computers of the customer and also in formation of the platform and implementation of the latest services. The project covered practically all product line of Microsoft: Windows Server 2008 R2 Exchange Server 2010, Lync Server 2010, System Center Configuration Manager System Center Operation Manager (SCCM) 2007 R2 and (SCOM) 2007 R2. Within the project specialists of Softline performed a number of works on design, optimization and full-scale implementing solutions and also complex technical support.

Within the solution migration from the mail Microsoft Exchange 2007 system on Microsoft Exchange 2010, scaling of mail infrastructure to the level of the failsafe solution is made. All servers involved in the project used the uniform Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 server, on it specialists of Softline made deployment of functionality on management and monitoring of servers and workstations – Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 SP2.

Result

The major project deliverable, according to the Chairman of the Committee of communication and information technologies of Administration of Yekaterinburg Mark Markov, is reduction of labor costs of IT specialists on support and also serious reduction of time of identification of failures in work of elements of IT infrastructure due to implementation of a single platform and effective instruments of the centralized flexible management by IT resources of Administration.

"This project gave us the chance to consolidate infrastructure services, such as directory service, e-mail and system of the joint communications in central office that considerably simplified management of IT infrastructure and increased the speed of accomplishment of administrative tasks. Transition to new versions of products of Microsoft allowed to use the latest opportunities in the field of security, managements, monitoring and communications. The fault tolerance of services, critical for work of City administration, was increased that gives confidence in reliable and smooth operation of key instruments of accomplishment of daily work as our employees. Implementation of this undoubtedly large project was made in a complex that finally provided the guaranteed integration of products among themselves and reduced final time expenditure in comparison with migration by each product separately. Especially I want to note that uniform infrastructure allows to simplify transition to rendering municipal services in electronic form and to perform interdepartmental interaction through SIEI", – Mark Markov emphasized.
