AvtoVAZ completes large-scale updating of the CAD systems at the enterprise

JSC AVTOVAZ carries out large-scale updating of automated design engineering systems KOMPAS-3D and the Compas-Grafik. Works on updating and training are performed by the staff of the Regional center ASCON Volga together with management of automated design engineering systems of directorate for technical development of the customer, the press service of developer reported on December 19, 2012.

Task

Market demands to terms of product development resulted in need of updating of instruments of design. In the second half of 2012 at the enterprise there took place large-scale works on upgrade of software: 20 jobs of KOMPAS-3D and 339 jobs the Compas-Grafik are transferred from V8 on V13, and 39 jobs the Compas-Grafik are updated to KOMPAS-3D.

"Certainly, during the time which passed between a release of these two versions there were significant changes directed to simplification of mastering and work in KOMPAS as was appreciated by specialists of AVTOVAZ — the assistant department head of a CAD Sergey Ryzhenkov told. — Our designers highly appreciate an extensive set of alternative libraries which cover a broad spectrum of the tasks taking place in development process of the car, qualitative and timely technical support and the fact that KOMPAS supports the Russian standards".
