INVENT Group manages IT assets and implements a mail system

The Softline company completed the project of upgrade of a mail system based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and the organization of centralized operation by infrastructure on the basis of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 in INVENT Group.

Start

During formation of customer company when the number of employees reached 150 people, the majority of business processes of the company was maintained only by exchange of not formalized messages by e-mail and phone calls, as corporate mail different mail servers and clients, including based on Linux were used.

For several years the enterprise covered the distance from the young electrotechnical company to engineering and production holding of national value. Managing geographically distributed structure, the company feels urgent need for instruments of remote administration of workstations.

For optimization of IT processes the Softline company which proposed the complex of solutions including migration from the existing mail system on the solution of the corporate level Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and the organization of centralized operation by IT assets with means of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 is invited.

Job

The project began with reorganization of a mail system of the customer. During the analysis of necessary documentation and the booked audit a number of requirements to the created mail infrastructure is revealed.

For minimization of a mail flow between branches of group on each platform it was placed on own mail server, and for the small branches which do not have own computing powers external access is organized. The available hardware of the customer was actively used: possibilities of the virtualization which is already operated at the enterprises of group are applied to isolation of operating systems of guest machines in the solution.

Readiness

As a result of project implementation the centralized storage of corporate mail providing reduction of risk of data loss and a possibility of monitoring earlier not of controlled information is created. With Exchange Server implementation the customer received the tool helping to organize safe collaborative planning of works and actions.

Artem Golovaty, the director of information technology of INVENT Group, noted: "Optimization of work of all back office became a result of the project: internal users received full-fledged means of electronic communications, and the staff of IT department – the instrument of centralized operation by infrastructure. So, connection of users to a new system allowed to use all opportunities of corporate mail. Among them – scheduling, group work with contacts (address directory), problem definition, etc. With implementation of SCCM 2012 our department received full control over information concerning client computers. Result – productivity and mobility of work of specialists of holding increased".
