DeskWork 2013Q1
The Softline company announced in May, 2013 an exit of DeskWork 2013Q1 which main innovation was a transition to the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2013 platform.
In this version of DeskWork 2013Q1 many of long-awaited functional product improvements from which main thing — the translation of the DeskWork portal on the solution Microsoft SharePoint 2013 are implemented. The DeskWork 2013Q1 corporate portal is the universal product for joint work having ample opportunities for information management and business processes and also convenient data access. All advantages of the new platform find the reflection in regular versions of the DeskWork corporate portal.
The DeskWork 2013Q1 corporate portal on the MS platform of SharePoint 2013 provides to users convenient and simple tools for collective work. Its functionality can be used for the most various purposes of the organization – as an information warehouse, knowledge and documents as means of remote work of employees, for creation and management of workflows of the company, for the organization of document flow, effective corporate communications and also for cost reduction using a simple and convenient video conferencing. Besides, in the Video conferences block of the new version of the DeskWork 2013Q1 corporate portal performance is significantly increased: it is possible to hold conferences for 600 listeners at the same time.
Considerable improvements are entered to the Business processes block. In it the number of services and activities significantly increased. In particular, an expanded set of mechanisms of validation of the created workflows, possibilities of their integration with external systems, for example, by 1C or different personnel programs are increased. Besides, possibilities of the user variables participating in workflow creation that allows to make it the most flexible and configured are significantly added.
The graphic composer of business processes of DeskWork automates uniform workflows of the organization in the form of flowcharts which any employee who does not have skills of programming can use. The next version of DeskWork-2013Q2 corporate portal is available to users since August 8, 2013, the press service of the company reported.
The main innovation - transition of the solution of the portal to the SharePoint Server 2013 platform and also providing to the existing clients of a convenient installer for migration from the previous versions of the portal (on the SharePoint 2010 platform) on new.
Among significant additions and innovations: expansion of functionality in Express Document Flow, Video conferences and Graphic Composer of Business Processes blocks.
"Each of blocks is updated according to modern requirements to instruments of joint work. Improvements were directed, first of all, to increase in convenience of work of users and cutting of costs for administration of a product", – Valentin Kudryavtsev, the director of the department of DeskWork and program developments of Softline company noted.
Additions
In the new version of a business block Express document flow is added the template simplifying work with magazines of registration, libraries of documents, tasks and also with the graphic composer of workflows. New instruments of creation of controls - "Quick start of document flow" and "A document flow desktop" considerably simplify work with documents.
The business block of Video conference also significantly was updated and extended. Complete redesign of the module was made — the new interface and the mechanism of work for the calendar and a form of creation of a conference and other forms is created, the feature for the fast organization of an online meeting is added by a one click of the button. The record mechanism is improved: now it is made on server side and does not depend on the speed of an Internet channel of the speaker. Record upon termination of a conference can be looked or downloaded at any time. Besides, there was a set of other improvements directed to simplification of work of organizers of conferences.
Are added to a business block "The graphic composer of business processes" three new activities ("Appropriate value", "Purpose of the rights", "The user's head"), which expand functionality of the block and simplify work with it. A large number of the changes designed to facilitate work of users and to reduce influence of "a human factor" when modeling big and difficult workflows of the enterprise is also made.
Besides, now the new version of the portal contains a simple and convenient installer for transition from the previous versions of DeskWork 2012Q4 (on the SharePoint 2010 platform) on DeskWork 2013Q2 (SharePoint 2013 platform). The most part of necessary actions for migration is performed in the automatic mode by an installer of DeskWork 2013Q2. Several additional simple steps can be made using the detailed and evident instruction.

The updated product available to users from September 26, 2013 will include all additions and improvements which appeared at the portal upon transition to the Microsoft SharePoint 2013 platform.
In the new version transfer of a product to the SharePoint 2013 platform working in the classical mode - on own servers of customers is complete. Creation of a new solution which will work at the Microsoft Office 365 platform, according to current trends - "mobility" and "clouds" will become the next step in development of the portal.
In DeskWork 2013Q3 - a set of the additions directed to increase in convenience of work of users and simplification of administration. For example, the mechanism of tracking of performance of a subsystem of the database which warns the administrator about possible overflow of memory and offers options of further actions is built-in. Report generation mechanisms are also accelerated; the new design of pages of settings of a product according to a design of SharePoint 2013 is created; using caching of data the mechanism of display of tasks DeskWork is improved. Besides, in the Video conferences block opportunities for work on the separate website, viewing record of a conference with a weak Internet channel appeared, more convenient navigation of conferences is made of the general menu of a product.
In the "Graphic Composer of Business Processes" block many mechanisms it is more convenient now, and JOIN and SPLIT activities became "much more intellectual", including - learned to predict some possible actions of users. Besides, in the list of workflows filters "Display Workflows for the Current List or the Website" are added and also the possibility of creation of workflow for the current list appeared.
All business blocks of the portal - Basic, Management of Requests, Express document flow, Universal Messages, Video conferences, Center of Tasks and "Graphic Composer of Business Processes" - during transfer to SharePoint 2013 underwent the significant changes allowing most full to use possibilities of this platform, at the same time the coordination of their interaction was the main priority. More than half a year of operation of a product in the companies gave the required material for the maximum expansion of its opportunities and improvement.
