AKADO-Ekaterinburg replaced tactics of fight against theft of switches

AKADO-Ekaterinburg announced on October 26, 2017 change of tactics of fight against theft of network switches from entrances of apartment houses.

According to provider, thefts have mass character — at some companies vanishes to several tens switches a week. As a result the whole houses are left without Internet access at least for several days while the provider makes replacement of the equipment. For the companies such thefts turn into losses in hundreds of thousands of rubles monthly and a goodwill loss.

As noted in Akado-Ekaterinburg, against thieves the most different means — from installation of anti-vandal boxes before use of video surveillance systems and the appeal to services of the private security companies are used. However died these insufficiently for prevention of all cases of thefts, there is a lot of switches: over 10 thousand on the area of presence. Therefore the company decided to replace tactics, having concentrated efforts on work with the organizations buying the stolen equipment.

"Switches steal not for the sake of extraction of non-ferrous metals because they are not there just — the security director of Akado-Ekaterinburg Ltd Andrey Pereskokov told. — Thefts are committed with an equipment sales objective to so-called "black providers" or small shops which do not care for verification of documentation of the goods purchased as it is possible cheaper for the purpose of further implementation. We focused on search of such organizations and work with them in a pre-judicial order. We prove that the batches of switches received by them belong to us (each device has unique number which is just verified with our list), and we explain that acquisition of the stolen equipment is punished by serious penalties. Moreover, criminal liability is possible. And, above all – under the threat there is a reputation of the company buyer. The last argument works smoothly. We manage to agree not only about return of all switches, but also about that the organization stopped similar purchases in the future. Thereby, thefts just depreciate, we deprive of malefactors of sales market".

According to Andrey Pereskokov, Akado-Ekaterinburg uses such practice both in Sverdlovsk region, and in other regions of Russia where it is possible to detect the equipment belonging to the company. At the same time fight with malefactors does not stop: in the last two years on episodes of thefts of switches of provider by police several tens of criminal cases were opened, thieves are brought to administrative and criminal responsibility.

Before thefts of switches providers of Yekaterinburg dealt with mass notches of cables. However this wave declined after transition of the companies to the fiber optic communication lines which are not containing non-ferrous metals.

Purchase by ER-Telecom

In October, 2017 JSC ER-Telecom Holding, the national operator of information and communication services, and the AKADO Group (G), telecommunication holding of Group Renova, announced completion of the transaction on acquisition of 100% of an asset of AKADO Group — Akado-Ekaterinburg Ltd.

AKADO Telecom intends to focus on business development in the Moscow region where provides telecommunication services to corporate clients (over 7 thousand commercial organizations), government institutions (more than 12 thousand objects of government institutions), third-party operators (over 375 telecom operators) and subscribers – individuals (in an area of coverage of network about 3 million households).

Merger of companies will lead to gain of positions ER-Telecom in the ShPD market and cable TV in Yekaterinburg. The scale of business of ER-Telecom in the Ural capital will grow more than 1.5 times. Clients of the joint operator, in turn, will get access to a broad spectrum of high-quality services and products of Holding. Further development of Akado-Ekaterinburg Ltd in synergy with large Russian telecommunication holding will open new opportunities for quality improvement of services and service and will allow the company to fix positions in the regional market.

2016

In a year the subscriber base of Akado-Ekaterinburg among individuals on service broadband access grew by 2.3%, the similar base on service TsTV showed growth by 8.4% (to subscribers well to 205 TsTV channels today). The base of corporate clients of the company increased by 21%. The total quantity of subscribers among physical persons and legal entities on all services made more than 150 thousand that exceeds result of 2015 for 4%. The volume of construction of new networks was more than 28 thousand households. Upgrade there underwent networks on 7.6 thousand households that corresponds to the level of 2015.

The Akado-Ekaterinburg company continued service development Video surveillance, having developed mobile application AKADO-camera which allows the user to manage the connected video cameras from any smartphone or the tablet on iOS or Android. Besides, there was a subscription to service of a single call to the house of the computer master "the Doctor of AKADO".

2013

The number of her subscribers among legal entities grew to 1000, and among individuals – up to 100,000. Revenue of the company according to the results of 6 months made 174 million rubles, profitability of business (EBIDTA Margin) – 38%, and the investment volume into business development – 47 million rubles. From January to June, 2013 Akado-Ekaterinburg carried out global upgrade of a core of the network up to 1.9 terabits per second, having increased its capacity by 2.5 times. Trunk channels of network were expanded by 4.5 times, including by the organization of forward fiber optic channels from Yekaterinburg to Moscow and Europe (Yekaterinburg-Moscow; Yekaterinburg – Moscow – Frankfurt, Stockholm).

The number of subscribers of cable television of Akado-Ekaterinburg, asset of Akado group, grew in a year by 35% and reached 50 thousand subscribers, reports Akado. According to Akado-Ekaterinburg, the share of the company in the market of cable television of the city grew from 8% in August, 2012 to 15% in January, 2014. The company is going to increase the offer on digital TV to 150 channels. Akado-Ekaterinburg also provides in the region services of broadband access in the Internet (ShPD). 58 thousand subscribers are connected to service.

2012

The company is one of key players in the Ekaterinburg market of broadband access, the market share occupied by it as of the end of 2012 makes 18%. In the market of cable television the share of the company makes about 8%.
