August 5: Birthday of Dmitry Andrianov

August Dmitry Andrianov, the CEO and the founder Prognoz, the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, the academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the head of the department of information systems and mathematical methods in economy of the Perm State National Research University (PSNRU) was born. In 2012 the system of Prognoz company, Prognoz Platform, for the first time entered a magic quadrant of Gartner, having gained the international recognition.

On July 31 the Microsoft school on algorithms of processing of data bulks [1] (ALMADA) started, it will last till August 7. The school will be organized by research division of Microsoft company — Microsoft Research together with Yandex company and MSU.

August 6: Birthday of Kevin Mitnik

This day 50 years are performed to Kevin Mitnik, the consultant for information security, the teacher. In the past — to the legendary hacker who is most wanted in the United States to the cybercriminal. Kevin Mitnik's activity with some conventions is displayed in the movie Track Down by Joe Shapel shot in 2000 according to the book by Tsutoma Shimomura, the hacker who was directly involved in Mitnik's capture. Mitnik wrote two books, first of which "Deception art", and the second was called "Invasion art".

Now (summer of 2011) — the Honorary Chairman of Wikimedia Foundation; director of the company of Wikia, Inc. Since March, 2012 — the adviser for questions of public policy and openness at the government of Great Britain.

On August 11 63 years will be performed to Steve Wozniak. Along with Steve Jobs he is the founder of Apple company. Also Another Steve (other Steve) is also known as The WoZ (derivative of a surname). Actually is one of developers of the first personal computer. Its inventions and the idea can be considered an invaluable contribution to development of computing systems. Steve Wozniak created Apple I and Apple II personal computers which purchased extraordinary popularity among users of that time.
