Content

On July 14, 2015 the company Softline announced project completion of implementation in the company "Vankorneft" management systems for IT assets and services ITAMITSM (/) and also control facilities of printing and monitoring of events.

Project Tasks

In 2012 the management Vankorneft made the decision on design and system implementation of control automation by IT assets and services. The Softline company became the partner in the project.

Project Progress

As the main tool the product line on the Microsoft System Center 2012 platform is selected. For fulfillment of requirements of the customer, the standard configuration of the management tool IT services was changed. The staff of department of business consulting and the center of solutions Microsoft of representation Softline in Novosibirsk finished a system that allowed:

  • provide uniform point of entry for end users by means of a self-service portal on the Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2013 platform;
  • create the three-level directory of services and also dynamic route charts for the provided services;
    • to provide expanded funds of approval and request processing for service;

  • create the intuitive interface of a self-service portal due to replacement of basic solutions of Silverlight with objects HTML5;

    • to implement a possibility of creation of the advanced combined queries with the subsequent tracking of the status.

Monitoring of critical services is provided with means of System Center Operation Manager 2012. For the maximum covering agency software of final servers in addition used solutions of BridgeWays; Nice and Veeam. It allowed to perform monitoring of solutions based on IBM, VMWare, FreeBSD, SUN, HP and so forth.

Staff of the Krasnoyarsk representative office of Softline integrated the used solutions with the automation equipment of processes of System Center Orchestrator 2012.

Management of hardware assets and software is implemented by means of a management system for the System Center Configuration Manager 2012 configurations and an extension package of Provance for System Center Service Manager 2012.

As a result of implementation, the customer received:

  • possibility of formation of the single database about acquisition of hardware-software providing;
  • the tool for control of events of use program and the hardware (appointment, movement, repair, utilization and so forth);

  • the solution for automation of process of determination of legality of use of the software and contract management on IT assets.

Management of printing is implemented using the Print Audit 6 software product. The tool helped to control expenses, to optimize costs for service.

Integration of all components of the implemented system among themselves, with legacy infrastructure of the customer, provided transparency of activity of IT departments a possibility of forecasting of IT events and costs for the provided services.

Within the project means of the additional analytical reporting which provides instant providing any management, technical and financial information are developed.

Project Results

Implementation ITAM/ITSM in Vankorneft gave the chance to IT company executives to increase effective management of IT infrastructure, to provide the centralized and structured data storage with a search capability and information analysis, to create a common information space for the staff of IT department, to automate accounting, control and management of all components of IT infrastructure.

"As a result of project implementation ITAM/ITSM we received a single system of management of IT services and also integration of separate management systems for IT processes (such as monitoring of IT infrastructure, management of IT assets, requests for service and incidents, printing). System Center Orchestrator 2012 will allow to manage proactively IT infrastructure and to increase its fault tolerance. The result of system implementation met expectations of division of IT and satisfied business needs for a part of development of IT", - noted Anton Lobanov, the head of department of IT of the joint-stock company Vankorneft.
"The project was difficult and very interesting. When implementing we tried to consider all wishes of JSC Vankorneft and to adapt standard the solution for business processes of the customer. It demanded significant completions and changes in standard settings of systems. At the time of start of the project in 2012 SC2012 platform was just issued. Even the vendor at that time had no necessary examination – it was necessary to look for non-standard solutions.
