Oracle Cloud at Customer is the family of solutions focused on corporate use and intended for simplification of transition to a cloud and elimination of some of the most serious problems interfering use of cloud services.

At the heart of Oracle Cloud at Customer — an infrastructure cloud platform based on the convergent hardware of Oracle, software-defined storage (SDS), data networks (SDN) and the control software IaaS. The corporation Oracle manages infrastructure and supports her, thus, customers can directly focus on use of IaaS services, PaaS and SaaS. Works at the same infrastructure cloud platform Oracle Cloud.

As a part of Oracle Cloud at Customer services are available:

  • Infrastructure services (Infrastructure) — give flexible opportunities of calculations, block storage, the organization of virtual networks, storages of files, message exchange and management of identification data for ensuring portability of workloads of Oracle applications and other suppliers in a cloud. In the nearest future IaaS-services, including Containers and Elastic Load Balancer supplementing a portfolio will be also available.
  • Services of data management (Data Management) — allow clients to use DBMS for data management in a cloud using Oracle Database Cloud services. A set of services of the Database Cloud Service databases will be filled up with servsisa of Oracle Database as a Service – Exadata for ensuring the highest performance, a set of services for work with Big Data of Cloud, including Big Data Discovery, Big Data Preparation, Hadoop and Big Data SQL.
  • Services of application development (Application Development) — allow to develop and unroll applications Java in a cloud using Oracle Java Cloud services and will be complemented with other services for multilingual development on Java SE, Node.Js, Ruby and PHP.
  • Services of integration (Enterprise Integration) — simplify integration of traditional and cloud applicaions and also cloud applicaions from different suppliers using Oracle Integration Cloud Service. SOA services, managements of API interfaces and Internet of Things (IoT) will be added.
  • Services of management (Management) — provide the uniform unified and seamless management of workloads in infrastructure of the enterprise and in the Oracle Cloud cloud environment.

2017

Availability of SaaS services in the territory of the Russian Federation

On November 13, 2017 the Oracle company announced availability to the order and placement in the territory of the Russian customers of the Russian Federation public SaaS services according to the Oracle Cloud at Customer model.

Business services are equipped with the built-in functions of mobility, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things. They embrace all aspects of activity of the enterprise — ERP SCM and HCM to CX. The corporation offers three different methods of use of cloud computing – on the platform of the customer, in a public cloud or by the Oracle Cloud at Customer model available to SaaS - clients receive a subscription for cloud business applications during the work in own DPC.

Oracle SaaS Cloud at Customer is offered on a subscription and functionally does not differ from a public cloud of Oracle Cloud, but is developed behind the client's firewall. This model allows to solve problems:

  • localizations of data (the personal, containing bank or trade secret, the classified information) according to requirements of the Russian legislation,
  • provide preserving of control over data
  • minimization of a delay in network (due to placement of data is closer to users or when forming the active-active configuration to reservation of nodes and synchronous replication).

The customer can unroll own system of control of security in network under protection of the firewall.

In industry coal mine Oracle SaaS Cloud at Customer it is focused on telecommunication, retail, production and financial institutions, as regarding cost optimization and use of functions, and operational flexibility of the companies. The offer is focused on the Russian business market - on the big customers using Oracle and future[1].

The portfolio was replenished with PaaS and SaaS services

The Oracle corporation announced on July 25 expansion of a range of the services available within the offer of Oracle Cloud at Customer ("A cloud of Oracle at the client"), giving to the organizations an opportunity of transfer of workloads in a cloud with placement of data on their own platforms. Now this portfolio covers all main categories of Oracle PaaS services and for the first time includes Oracle SaaS services.[2]

Oracle PaaS

As it is mentioned above, customers have access to all main categories of Oracle PaaS services now, namely: to services of databases, application developments, analysts, Big Data, data integration and applications, management of the identification information (IDM). These services use all advantages of improvements which were entered to a reference platform of Oracle Cloud at Customer to provide higher performance for support of corporate workloads. Among such advantages: the servers with faster processors and flash drives based on NVMe and a storage system entirely constructed on flash drives.

Oracle SaaS

In addition Oracle for the first time provided to customers within Oracle Cloud at Customer an opportunity to use in their own DPCs Oracle SaaS services, such as enterprise resource planning (Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP), human capital management (Human Capital Management, HCM), customer relationship management (Customer Relationship Management, CRM) and supply chain management (Supply Chain Management, SCM). These cloud applicaions help to disclose new values for business and to increase performance, allowing the enterprises and people to be more informed, communicative, productive and involved. With adding of SaaS customers of Oracle Cloud at Customer get access to cloud services of Oracle in all cloud stack, and all this is provided on the managed model on the basis of a subscription directly in their data centers.

Big Data

Besides, cloud services of Oracle Big Data Cloud Machine which represent the optimized system providing the platform ready for operation Hadoop and Spark with a high performance of the selected nodes, but with flexibility and simplicity became available clouds. Now the organizations can get access to a broad spectrum of the tools Hadoop, Spark and analytics on simple model of a subscription in own DPCs.

Infrastructure

Oracle Cloud at Customer is provided by Oracle Cloud as infrastructure (Infrastructure): provides elastic calculations, containers, elastic storage with block access, object storage, virtual networks and management of the identification information to provide portability of workloads of Oracle and other applications in a cloud.

Data Management

The service of data management (Data Management) allows clients to use "#1 database" for infrastructure management of data in a cloud using Oracle Database Cloud, including Oracle Database Exadata Cloud for the exclusive performance and Oracle MySQL Cloud.

Big Data and Analytics

The service "Big Data and analytics" (Big Data and Analytics) gives the chance to the organizations to apply a single platform of storage and processing of diverse data to use any data for obtaining valuable analytical information. A broad set of cloud services of Big Data, including Oracle Big Data Cloud Service, Oracle Analytics Cloud and Oracle Event Hub Cloud is offered.

Application Development

The service of application development (Application Development) allows the organizations to develop and unroll applications Java in a cloud using Oracle Java Cloud Oracle Application Container Cloud, Oracle Container Cloud and Oracle WebCenter Portal Cloud.

Enterprise Integration

Service of corporate integration (Enterprise Integration) simplifies integration of local applications into cloud applicaions and also integration of cloud applicaions into cloud applicaions using Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle SOA Cloud, Oracle Data Integrator Cloud, Oracle GoldenGate Cloud, Oracle Managed File Transfer Cloud and Oracle Internet of Things Cloud.

Security

The service of security (Security) allows the organizations to use Oracle Identity Cloud for implementation and management of the approved politicians of management of the identification information and access.

Business applications

The full range of cloud business applications (SaaS) is available to the organizations to business management, including Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle CX Cloud, Oracle HCM Cloud and Oracle Supply Chain Management Cloud.

Exadata as a part of Cloud at Customer

On March 7, 2017 the Oracle company published the offer of the Exadata system as an element of Oracle Cloud at Customer service.

Clients of the company had an opportunity to vary installation of the product Oracle Exadata: install a product in the DPC as service of a private cloud (Exadata Cloud Machine), in Oracle Cloud (Exadata Cloud Service) or in normal computing environment on own platform (Exadata Database Machine)[3].

The Exadata Cloud Machine service announced on February 27, 2017 is intended for the organizations aiming to transfer quickly corporate tasks to a public cloud to avoid capital costs, but for the different reasons of the cloud services needing independent providing on own platform.

Oracle Cloud and Exadata Cloud Machine is given opportunities:

  • DBMS for the solution of the major tasks of OLTP, analytics, mixed problems and consolidation including all options;
  • hardware platform of DBMS with NVMe Flash, InfiniBand network and fast servers;
  • the platform of intellectual DBMS with algorithms Smart Database for storage, networks and calculations;
  • the platform of cloud DBMS with payment of a subscription and accumulation of power in real time online;
  • simple and clear migration in a cloud;

Software and the equipment are identical and for 100% are compatible.

Users can start Cloud Machine solving problems:

  • recovery after accidents,
  • elastic accumulation of power,
  • development and testing,
  • transfer of tasks with "rise and shift", using the uniform API interface and tool kit of writing of scenarios for DevOps.

2016: Release of Oracle Cloud at Customer

On March 25, 2016 the Oracle corporation announced release of a product family of Oracle Cloud at Customer. By means of these solutions of the Chief information officer for the first time receive as a possibility of the choice where the razvernutkorporativny software, and a natural way of transfer of the applications crucial for business, from traditional DPCs to a cloud environment.

Submission of Oracle Cloud at Customer (2016)

The family of the solutions Oracle Cloud at Customer allows clients to take all advantage of cloud services of Oracle – dynamism, simplicity, performance, flexible scaling, payment on a subscription – in own DPC. The supplier of a public cloud offers a stack of cloud services, for 100% compatible to Oracle Cloud, but at the same time on-premise, available on traditional model of ownership, i.e. in DPC of the enterprise. As the software is identical with Oracle Cloud, clients can use it in a broad spectrum of scenarios, including for recovery in emergency situations, dynamic selection of additional computing powers, development/testing, the accelerated migration and also as uniform tool palette of API interfaces and scripts for DevOps. In addition, as this complex completely is controlled Oracle, customers receive the identical service level, the advanced innovations and advantages - as in the Oracle Cloud cloud environment, and using all this in own DPC.

With Oracle Cloud in DPC the companies will receive:

  • full control over the data and to provide observance of requirements to sovereignty of the data and to the place of their rezidentnost (rights of possession and the location) – establishing that data on clients should remain in corporate DPC or be stored in borders of a certain geographical region – and, at the same time, to take all advantages of a cloud.
  • portability of workloads between infrastructure of the enterprise and a cloud thanks to identity of environments, tool kits and API interfaces.
  • movement of workloads of Oracle applications and other postashchik between local infrastructure and a cloud depending on the changing requirements of business.
  • observance of statutory and regulatory requirements on security and confidentiality of information, in particular requirements:
    • international standard of data security of the industry of payment cards (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, PCI-DSS);
    • Federal management program for risks and authorization (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, FedRAMP) federal U.S. Government;
    • Federal law on data protection (German Federal Data Protection Act) (Germany);
    • Law on data protection (Data Protection Act) (Great Britain);
    • other industry and regional rules, standards and regulatory regulations.
