2024: Transfer of ownership to the leaders of the Russian subsidiary

The leaders of the Russian "daughter" of the manufacturer industrial robots Kuka became its owners. The company told about this deal on January 10, 2024.

Cook Robotics changed its name to Industrial Robotics LLC. Its general director was Petr Smolentsev, who were previously the commercial director. 95% of the shares in the company passed under his control, the remaining 5% is now with CFO Sergei Katkov. The financial and other parameters of the transaction were not disclosed by January 10, 2024.

According to Interfax, citing a statement from Industrial Robotics, the company, after transferring control to top management, will continue to operate while maintaining existing business processes and fulfill obligations to customers, including supporting users of industrial robots.

According to Industrial Robotics, by the beginning of January 2024, every second industrial robot at the enterprises of Russia and the CIS countries is the development of Kuka. We are talking about more than 4.3 thousand cars.

Interfax recalls that Kuka robots are actively used by automakers around the world. Among them are AvtoVAZ and KamAZ. Moreover, the first automated Kuka complexes were delivered to the Russian market back in 1974, that is, during the USSR.[1]

2016

On June 9, 2016, KUKA Robotiks Rus and Innopolis University documented agreements on the joint development of technology solutions, the organization of flexible robotic production based on orders from industrial enterprises, and the development of methods for using robotics for advanced research. Also, the parties will begin cooperation in the development of peripheral devices for robotic complexes in medicine and industry, the exchange of technologies and research data and the creation of joint educational programs for teaching students and the development of additional competencies of employees of the industrial partner of the university.

Professors and researchers of Innopolis University will assist in the implementation of applied scientific research, research and development work on the basis of the KUKA robotic complexes. In turn, representatives of KUKA Robotiks Rus will help the IT university in the development of educational and methodological materials to ensure the educational process in the field of robotics and mechatronics.
