Performance indicators
2023: Revenue cut by 28%, going to profit after loss
As TAdviser found out, in 2023, the revenue of Technoevolab, the renamed former Russian subsidiary Xerox, decreased by 28.4% compared to 2022, to 4.776 billion rubles. At the same time, the company completed the year with a net profit of about 66 million rubles, while at the end of 2022 it received a large loss.
In 2023, Technoevolab reduced business expenses by 74.7% and management expenses by 41.5%.
After the separation from Xerox, which stopped supplying products to Russia, Technoevolab specializes in the development of complex IT projects, solutions for managing the printing infrastructure, automating business processes, as well as the supply of a wide range of paper products: from white office paper to special synthetic materials.
Among the services that the company provides as of the beginning of the year: outsourcing of office printing infrastructure, outsourcing of processing of financial and accounting documents, outsourcing of mass production of documents, centralized printing services, services for processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence, for managing marketing operations and assets, etc.
Technoevolab also provides service services for the repair of office printing equipment and industrial equipment in Russia. The company's own divisions operate in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg, together with an extensive partner network, they form a network for the repair of printing equipment.
The drop in revenue in 2023 is primarily due to the fact that at the beginning of 2022 the company was still the official importer of Xerox with the corresponding business volume, TAdviser explained to Technoevolab. Also, the termination of shipments from Xerox significantly affected the cost of service contracts.
Most customers were sympathetic to the current situation, but there were also those who pushed us to optimize the current project portfolio, - told TAdviser in Technoevolab. |
At the same time, the company notes that, unlike revenue for 2023, the company's profit is in absolutely the opposite trend and allows us to talk about business efficiency.
As for the prospects, we are working on new areas of business and will be able to share details after the launch of projects, - added to Technoevolab. |

The position of the general director of Xerox CIS assumes more administrative functions.
2016
According to Xerox estimates, in 2016, the total sales on the Russian market of materials for digital printing continued to fall. Compared to last year, the market decreased by 10-15%. The budgets of the companies remained low, and therefore the customers especially carefully chose materials in terms of value for money. In turn, the volume of the office paper market remained at the level of 2015. However, there was a noticeable change in the balance of power: the share of importers significantly decreased, while the position of local producers strengthened.
Sales of Xerox materials for digital laser printing have grown, and in the office paper segment, the company almost doubled last year.
2015: New President of Xerox Eurasia - Sergey Chernovolenko
In January 2015, Sergey Chernovolenko became the president of Xerox Eurasia. In this post, he replaced Vladimir Lavrov, who decided to leave the company. Chernovolenko's area of responsibility includes business development and strategic positioning of Xerox in Eurasia in the field of promotion and maintenance of equipment, technologies and services for information and document management.
2005
Of the $15.7 billion the company earned in 2005, services generated 3.3 billion. And yet, speaking of Xerox's business in emerging markets, which includes Russia, it becomes obvious that the high matter of services is a question of maybe the nearest, but future. The skeleton of sales of this American company in our country, in Asia or Latin America, is office equipment. Moreover, inexpensive equipment. Cheap MFPs, printers and copiers worth less than $1,000 in the DMO (Developing Markets Operations) region account for more than 58% of sales (2005). A few years ago, this figure was even higher. For comparison, in Europe the share of such devices does not exceed 34%, and in North America - 24%.
Emerging markets were expected to become the largest region by monoprinter consumption in 2007. There is little honor in this - Europe, the USA, Japan are rapidly switching to the use of MFPs, and sales of individual printing devices are rapidly falling here.
Among emerging markets, Russia, with its adjacent CIS countries, is the undisputed leader in the consumption of printers and MFPs worth less than $1000. About 3 million similar devices are sold here per year. Brazil, Mexico, India and Poland follow. The growth of this segment (at the specified price and geography) is 17% per year.
Technologically, Xerox focuses primarily on color laser printing. This segment is the most expensive and therefore the most profitable for both the manufacturer and its partners. The rise of color printing is a trend on which Ann Mulcahy's strategy is largely based today. If in 2004 out of 3 trillion pages printed in the world, only 5% were colored, then in 2006 it was expected to grow to 9%. Xerox is confident that the share of color printing in 2009 will reach 17%.
In many ways, Russia's success in selling Xerox equipment was due to the experimental scheme of the company's development in our country. This experiment was forced: in 1998, after the financial crisis that broke out in our country, the very rejection of direct sales in favor of the channel was recognized as the best way out for the local office. From 1999 to 2005, sales of the company in our country grew by an average of 25% per year. The success of Russian partners impressed Xerox so much that today 100% of the company's office equipment sales worldwide go through integrators and resselers.
At the end of 2005, Xerox Russia's turnover amounted to $245 million. The representative office received corporate status of the Entity, which gives it broad privileges in forming its own organizational structure and obtaining financial benefits. Interestingly, the domestic market differs markedly in terms of sales structure from traditional "developing" countries. In addition to traditional sales of office equipment, several projects in the service sector have already been implemented here (outsourcing work with documents at customer sites), the direction of industrial printing systems is actively developing.
Russians at Xerox feel confident not only in sales, but also in management. Confirmation of the high level of local managers is the fact that the domestic office does not have a single foreigner, which is not at all typical for an international company. At the same time, personnel turnover is 1% per year. Russian managers, on the contrary, are gradually distributed across the planet: a man from Moscow headed the Xerox office in Turkey, an appointment is being prepared in one of the countries of Eastern Europe.
1974
In 1974, a representative office was opened in Moscow. The company was a pioneer in the Soviet market of copiers, so its name became a household name for a whole type of equipment.
