2019: Toughpad FZ-M1 Passport for scanning of passports and control of ID
On February 4, 2019 Panasonic presented integrated solution for data validation and identifications persons - TOUGHPAD Passport based on the 7-inch protected FZ-M1 tablet.
According to the company, the solution Panasonic TOUGHPAD FZ-M1 Passport is intended for verification of passports and identity certificates on border control, driver's licenses and admissions at check-points and inputs in the protected zones and also for needs of police and security forces. Besides, a number of the built-in options allows to use the device in tourism, the sphere of entertainments and hospitality, for example when holding large-scale actions (conferences, concerts) and also during the landing and disembarkation of passengers of cruise liners.
The solution Passport is developed based on the TOUGHPAD FZ-M1 mk3 Standard tablet, the equipped processor IntelCore i5 of the 7th generation. The device supports a number of technologies identifications: barcodes the reader 2D, the reader smart cards and RFID for contactless cards and also technology of schityvaniye two-lower case (and in the near future and three-lower case) a machine-readable part of MRZ (MachineReadableZone) in passports.

On August 7, 2018 the corporation Panasonic announced release of the 5th generation of completely protected business tablets Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 based on Windows 10 Pro. According to the statement of the developer, thanks to the capacity display with technology the multi-touch, to waterproof IP55 to a digitayzer (feather) and a flexible configuration of ports the tablet is optimal for field operation and can effectively be used even during a rain. The flexible configuration provides to business users a set of necessary ports in the compact, completely protected and easy form factor.
The Flir Lepton 3.5 thermal imaging camera (option) allows to remove and process exact infrared images, to connect them with other business applications and to add metadata, for example, QR codes. The camera supports high resolution of video (160x120), the frequency of 8 frames per second and can take temperature to 450ºC with an accuracy +/-5ºC (the mode of higher accuracy: from-10 to 140ºC ± 5ºC or ± 5%, broader range: from-10ºC to 450ºC ± 10ºC or ± 10%).
Panasonic noted that the tablet conforms to standards of protection MIL-STD 810G and IP65 and can work so much how many it is necessary thanks to a possibility of "hot swap" of the battery. Battery life - till 11 o'clock (till 22 o'clock with the additional big battery).

On July 31, 2018 Panasonic provided generation of completely protected 7-inch tablets Toughpad FZ-M1 mk3 on OS Windows.
The tablet in a basic equipment (Standart) is equipped with more powerful processor Intel Core i5 of the 7th generation Intel Core i5-7Y57 vPro providing performance at very low power consumption and the minimum heating now. Besides, the device is equipped bright, in comparison with the previous generation, the display (700 cd/m ²) with a transparent antiglare protective film. The "budget" version of the tablet (Value) also received more powerful processor Intel Celeron N4100 and increase in RAM up to 4 GB.

On May 22, 2018 Panasonic presented the solution for creation of independent mobile POS terminals based on the protected tablets and handheld devices. The special case integrates the mobile payment modules Ingenico iSMP4 or VeriFone e355 with the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 tablet protected 10.1-inch in compact mPOS the terminal capable to replace with itself a full-function cash complex.
The solution was presented at the Retail Business Technology Expo 2018 exhibition in London which participants - suppliers of the protected tablets and devices for mobile payments - integrated for creation of the simple and economic solution mPOS. Development of Panasonic will allow to create easy figurative payment terminals, considerably expanding possibilities of mobile trade and providing growth of contactless payments in all industries.
The case is designed so that to provide easy access to the battery for its "hot" replacement neposredtvenno in the course of work, equipped by the built-in holder for the stylus, ergonomic handles and fastening for a shoulder belt. The module Ingenico iSMP4 reliably connects to the tablet on USB that allows to charge both devices at the same time. Verifone e355 is connected to Toughpad FZ-G1 on Bluetooth and loaded separately.
Front and back cameras of the tablet remain open, and the Kensington lock ensures additional safety when the terminal is not used.
