The Singapore startup of TeleRadio created SkyDroner — the station capable to detect and force unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to landing. A system can be useful as to security of mass actions and crucial infrastructure, and to prevention of drones on the territory of prisons or protection of private households of government officials and celebrities, reported the CNBC agency on October 13, 2017.
In an interview to journalists of the edition who visited the research center TeleRadio in the Malaysian city of Johore Bahru recently the area director on sales Jason Quek, told that together with popularity of drones also need for protection against undesirable invasion of the UAV grows.
According to him, drones even more often use recently as the improvised explosive devices as the tool for drug trafficking or weapon in prisons and also to film the famous people.
The SkyDroner system allows to reveal the drone violator and to capture it under the control then the UAV it is possible to ground in the set point and to deactivate, having made impossible its restart.
According to information from the website of the producer, SkyDroner it is capable to mark invasion of the UAV in a radius of 1 kilometer, to define it type and in real time to trace a flight trajectory. Also a system can specify location of the one who manages the UAV and to give to the drone a command that that returned to the operator.[1]
The cost of the SkyDroner system is less than $75000. The price depends on contract value. According to the agency, TeleRadio already cooperates with the U.S. Department of Defense, and now conducts negotiations and tests the system with the governments of the Asian and Middle Eastern states.[2]
