The Russian Railway will buy servers for Major computer center for 3 billion rubles

At the end of November, 2017 the Russian Railways (RR) company summed up the results of the tender for delivery of the server hardware, its installation and upgrade. Purchases of goods and services were carried out in the form of an electronic auction.

According to the Russian Railway, the victory in the auction which took place on November 23, 2017 was gained by Tekhnoprogress LLC — the "subsidiary" of Aquarius group who is engaged in assembly of the computer equipment under own brand. For contract performance the company requested about 3.14 billion rubles against the starting price in 3.32 billion rubles.

In addition to Tekhnoprogress, the companies "Technoprom", "Lanit", "Technoserv" and "I-Teco" also took part in biddings. Besides, the request of one more company — JSC STK razvitiye — was rejected by the auction commission.

According to the tender documentation, the server hardware will be supplied in interests Major computer center of the Russian Railway to To Moscow (GVTs) and also its branches in the capital and Yekaterinburg. The nomenclature of delivery includes servers of eight types and two sets of hardware upgrade. At the same time on all servers installation of different software of the company IBM — mainly is supposed OS AIX Unix (family) and also OS z/OS and DBMS DB2.

All works on the contract should be performed during the period from January 11 to March 31, 2018.

The press service of Akvarius could not answer in detail with CNews questions concerning whether the company intends to close all needs of the customer only self-produced servers, or on some positions of the nomenclature of delivery the equipment under other brands will be transferred. The interlocutor of edition reported that the company does not practice disclosure of information on contracts which are not signed yet.[1]
