On April 11, 2024, it became known that the owners of the large oil and gas equipment manufacturer Novomet had completely changed. The capital of the company, in particular, included the industrial group Canary Islands"," which is also engaged in the production of equipment for oil and gas.

The deal was reported by the Kommersant newspaper. All previous shareholders came out of Novomet's capital - Rusnano (30.76%), investment funds Russia Partners and Baring Vostok (a total of 19.34%), as well as the company's top management and founders led by Oleg Perelman (a total of 49.9%). The new owners of the enterprise were structures close to the general director of Novomet-Perm JSC Maxim Perelman and the mentioned Konar group. Officially, the value of the transaction at the time of its execution was not disclosed. According to market participants, Novomet's business can be valued at 25-30 billion rubles.

A Kommersant source claims that Konar intends to become a strategic partner of Novomet and combine competencies in mechanical engineering, the supply of equipment and metal structures. This will make it possible to expand the range of services provided and more fully cover the demand of oil and gas companies.

The Konar group is confident that their inclusion in the key shareholders of Novomet is mutually beneficial for both enterprises. Maxim Perelman said that thanks to the deal, Novomet will be able to strengthen its position in the markets occupied, and will also be able to develop completely new directions, among which the production of electric motors for ground transport and servo drives for machine tools is named.

2022

Commissioning of Oil Submersible Cable Production

The portfolio company Rusnano - Novomet has put into operation the production of oil submersible cable. Rusnano reported this on October 26, 2022.

The workshop, equipped with automated production lines, started operating normally.

The introduction of own production of high-temperature armored oil submersible cable will reduce the cost of the final product, reduce the production time and guarantee its timely shipment to the customer. Preparations for the implementation of the project started in 2018. The construction of the workshop was carried out from scratch, in parallel, the process of creating infrastructure was underway - the construction of access roads, the connection of gas and electricity. In 2021, Novomet specialists carried out commissioning of the production. As of October 2022, the technology is being developed, the equipment is being brought to design capacity.

The new development of Perm industrialists will be used in complicated wells, at high temperatures, in water and in high hydrogen sulfide conditions. Among the applications of the cable are mechanized oil production, water injection into the formation and downhole pumping, operation of offshore fields, water intake and geothermal wells.

At the first stage, it is planned to produce 180 km of cable per month, in the future the volume will be doubled. More than 70% of the workshop's products will be supplied to foreign markets.

Agreement with Sinara-Transport Machines on the supply of electric motors

Presentation of the development strategy

The Novomet company presented a development strategy. This was announced on July 15, 2022 by Rusnano.

The company will focus on creating and implementing solutions in the field of oilfield services and clean technologies. Key areas of business development were developed by the teams of RUSNANO, Novomet and partners with the participation of interested federal departments.

The priorities in the strategy are due to the growing demand for Novomet products in the domestic oilfield service market, the annual volume of which exceeds 80 billion rubles, as well as the increasing influence of sustainable development factors.

The production facilities of the enterprise are prepared for the mass production of pumping plants for geothermal wells, industrial pumps for various industries, high-tech solutions for pumping and storage in the SO2 formation, electric motors for various types of transport and charging stations for electric vehicles.

As of July 2022, 5 own developments are ready for production in the listed areas, another 14 are at different stages of implementation. Also, the results of negotiations with the leaders of the oilfield service market were summed up, the main parameters of partnerships in the interests of inorganic growth were agreed.

Novomet- CJSC Perm conducts its own design development, has a number of international patents for inventions. The equipment is produced using a new powder technology for this industry. 1997

The first products of Novomet-Perm, founded in 1991, were the working stages of submersible centrifugal pumps for oil production, manufactured using a new technology for the industry.
