On June 27, 2018 the Cisco Systems company announced that "The seaside edge medical information and analytical center" (Vladivostok) implemented the project in the field of digitalization which consisted in the implementing solutions Cisco in infrastructure of a data processing center and creation of a system of a video conferencing for remote consultations and training.

In the spring of 2017 before the organization there was a task of upgrade of IT infrastructure. It was going to optimize process of providing citizens of the region with necessary reference and help and analytical documentation. Project implementation meant two stages: delivery and installation of servers to a data processing center and also creation of a system of a video conferencing.

" it is possible increase quality of medical care and efficiency of use of resources of health care due to improvement of IT infrastructure. The choice of Cisco devices is explained by their capability fundamentally to accelerate and simplify workflows, to ensure safety and protection of crucial information, to support online access to data and the high-quality analyst, to provide the means necessary for development of the telemedicine systems and networks".

As of June, 2018 on the installed server hardware the following regional information systems which the staff of 112 medical organizations of the region uses function:

  • uniform service of making an appointment with the doctor of Primorsky Krai;
  • the central archive of medical images of Primorsky Krai, including teleradiology;
  • information system "Monitoring of Pregnant Women of Primorsky Krai";
  • regional segment of a single state information system in the field of health care of Primorsky Krai;
  • regional system of remote functional diagnostics.

For implementation in infrastructure of a data processing center the rack Cisco UCS servers of series C and a blade servers of Cisco UCS of series B were selected. The Cisco UCS-C servers combine simplicity of architecture, high performance and density of placement. With their help the organization can reduce total ownership cost IT infrastructure and increase her adaptivity. The Cisco UCS-B servers provide a possibility of fast deployment of server applications and the simplified management of network connections. Distinctive feature of a hardware platform is the reduced number of cables, adapters and switches of the access level. It significantly facilitates the procedure of connection of the server systems to networks of information storage and local network configurations.

The system of a video conferencing became one more crucial element of digital transformation of "Seaside edge medical information and analytical center". For June, 2018 it is used in the pilot mode for carrying out telemedicine consultations (including radiological) and the training actions for employees. On its base it is going to create the regional system of interaction of the medical organizations and administration of Primorsky Krai in the field of health care. A core of a system of a video conferencing is the communication center for joint work of Cisco Business Edition 6000 which also functions based on the rack Cisco UCS server. Besides, were set a universal software platform of Cisco Meeting Server for the organization of multipoint audio-, video and web conferences and Cisco SX20 codecs.
