Session "IT in Banks" on TAdviser SummIT on May 30, 2018
Within the TAdviser SummIT conference which took place on May 30, 2018 in Moscow and brought together in total more than 600 participants work of the section "IT in Banks" was organized. Representatives of financial institutions and suppliers of IT solutions discussed key trends and specifics of digitalization in the bank industry of Russia.

Mikhail Lukyanov, the project director of department of risks of CIB, Sberbank, explained that investment business – the type of activity, separate of the core banking business, which is characterized by the high speed of transactions. The broken-off client experience between B2B and B2C remains a problem so far – and now there is its alignment. In particular, B2C services are made now and for partners, for gain of sales and cost optimization.
Players of the market: trends and solutions
The Russian banks develop in a global trend of digitalization, advancing remote channels of service, increasing internal efficiency and accelerating start of new services, participants of TAdviser SummIT confirm.
For the purpose of performance improvement of processes many banks go the way simplifications of an IT landscape, at the same time ensuring business continuity remains the main task. To the user availability of services and business applications, but not separate components is important, Alexey Skladchikov, the head of development of IT infrastructure, ICL Services noted. Transition of banks to service model regarding IT allows to estimate more precisely investments into infrastructure and it is better to manage qualitative indexes.
Application Performance Manager reflects including influence of IT services on business. It helps to create new KPI of performance and availability and provides finally new data for new solutions, Skladchikov noted. So, IT department of bank has a search capability of bottlenecks in IT infrastructure – for example, it is possible to find using an automated workplace the "heavy" code or a request in the application and to send back it for revision. And the main thing – to provide confidence that all business and critical applications are available.
In Russia rather big share of cash flow still remains. In parallel anti-money laundering becomes tougher – banks should provide fulfillment of requirements 115-FZ "About counteraction of legalization (washing) of income gained in the criminal way and to terrorism financing". For simplification of this process in the market a set of solutions in the field of automatic check of partners was created, however their development is not always in time behind legislative changes, and the low accuracy of checks increases costs of banks, Olga Smirnova, the head of project office "SKB Kontur" commented.
According to her, today ensuring faster check becomes competitive advantage for bank, allowing to increase the customer base quicker. Speed and quality in case of SKB Kontur service is reached due to intellectual scoring which includes more than 50 risk factors indicating signs of conducting unreliable economic activity. Scoring can be configured depending on the level of tolerance of specific bank to risks. It relies on an expanded range of data sources – both the open, and closed sources, internal lists of banks and also data which are saved up according to the customer base of SKB Kontur which, at the received consent of clients, can be used for reliability assessment are used.
For effective implementation of digital bank it is necessary to solve the problems focused on client experience and also on implementation of the innovations maintaining loyalty. Can influence customer service of bank, including, activity on social networks, Alexander Sergienko, the chief executive of Innodata company considers. The vast majority of Banks of Russia already automated, to some extent, the key directions of business, however the quality and functionality of the used solutions regularly cause complaints. The innovation of a product reflecting perspective technology trends can stimulate to migration as rather low price of a new solution (including, the cost of its implementation and TSO), and. Both of these factors stimulate growth of the market of the market of the hyper convergent systems - for 35-50% annually, Vladimir Rubanov, the managing director of Rosplatforma considers. An essential share of industry members (up to 50%, by estimates of TAdviser) use for problems of digitalization self-written software. Most banks note that they do not find suitable "turnkey" solution in the market. At the same time many see a source of competitive advantage in such IT solutions owing to what strengthen internal development.
As Lina Chudnova told, the head automation of production processes of Neoflex, a typical set of tasks by development of systems turns on providing a uniform ecosystem and rules, build automation and deployments of new versions and updates, support of a possibility of transfer of changes between Wednesdays without additional settings and a good covering with the automated testing. All this is necessary for acceleration of terms of removal of products and services on the market (time to market), and can be provided with means of IT.
Automation of all layers of DevOps-processes allows customers banks to focus on target tasks of the projects, saving resources on design of infrastructure solutions, process automation and so forth, Chudnova says. The TAdviser SummIT conference took place in Moscow on May 30, 2018 year and attracted more than 600 participants. Increase in business performance and the state using digital technologies became principal themes of an action. Representatives of large customer companies and a public sector provided the best practices of use of IT in the organizations, and suppliers of IT solutions – the new developments.
