Ceterix Orthopedics — the developer of the orthopedic equipment earlier known as SuturePro Technologies. The company which is based in the city of Frimont, the State of California, the USA is engaged in development of surgical instruments for arthroscopic procedures, including medical devices with technology of suture which allows surgeons-orthopedists to perform low-invasive joint operations.

History

2018: Smith & Nephew purchased Ceterix Orthopedics for $105 million

On December 18, 2018 the British giant in the field of solutions for orthopedics and traumatology Smith & Nephew announced purchase of Ceterix Orthopedics company and its device for treatment of injuries of a knee joint of NovoStitch Pro. According to terms of transaction, Smith & Nephew should pay $50 million in advance and $55 million more - within the next five years depending on the received economic results.

The system of recovery of a meniscus Ceterix NovoStitch Pro as it is reported on the official site of the producer, gives to surgeons a unique opportunity to recover horizontal, radial, root and other difficult ruptures of meniscuses of a knee joint. The company also supplies to the market needle the device for suture of Novocut Suture Manager. Smith & Nephew considers that this equipment will add own development of Fast-Fix 360 for sewing together of vertical ruptures of a meniscus.

The system of sewing together of a meniscus NovoStitch Pro is one of the innovative technologies developed for arthroscopic recovery of a knee joint in terms of anatomical structure and the corresponding function. NovoStitch has the potential for elimination of such defects which were considered as extremely difficult or not responding to treatment earlier.

Representatives of Ceterix note that they are proud of the contribution to rehabilitation therapy of injuries of a knee joint, and hope for attraction of bigger number of clients after the conclusion of the transaction.[1]
