End of the first test stage of the solution on digitalization of power industry based on IoT

On September 5, 2019 announced JSC ER-Telecom Holding end of the initial stage of a joint pilot project with Rosseti Urals company. According to the results of the operator it intends to propose to the electric grid companies flexible complete solution on digitalization of power industry based on technology of Internet of Things (IoT) using the protocol of wireless communication LoRaWAN.

The integrated IoT-solution of ER-Telecom allows to solve a problem of end-to-end business process automation of electric power transmission to the consumer in distribution networks of 0.4-110 kV when ensuring the set parameters of reliability, security and cost efficiency.

Implementation of a pilot project with "Rosseti the Urals" clearly demonstrates advantages of use of industrial Internet of Things based on LoRaWAN IoT-technology in power industry, including telecontrol by reklouzer and switching offices of transformer substations.

The main of a task of the solution implemented by us is increase in efficiency of the operating power grid infrastructure, level of its observability and reliability, ensuring growth of figures of merit of power supply that promotes improvement of financial results from operational efficiency, comments the head of IoT-projects in power of JSC ER-Telecom Holding, Alexander Bocharov

The Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, the Head of Chelyabinsk region Alexey Teksler, the CEO of PJSC Rosseti Pavel Livinsky and other heads of the top and average management of Rosseti group studied the solution.

Replication of the developed standard solutions in other divisions of Rosseti Urals company will become the next stage of a pilot project which will be completed until the end of 2019.

The developed IoT-solution is one of applied instruments of digitalization of objects of power within the uniform concept of digital transformation approved in Rosseti company which assumes complete conversion of power power grid infrastructure till 2030.

Agreement on start of a pilot zone of testing of the solutions IoT

On January 31, 2019 JSC ER-Telecom Holding, the national operator of information and communication services, reported that he signed the agreement with JSC Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Ural on start based on Permenergo and Chelyabenergo of a pilot zone of testing of solutions in the field of industrial Internet of Things.

The agreement provides testing of telecommunication technologies based on LoRaWAN and component integration of automated systems of collecting and control of technology information (data collection systems of metering devices of the electric power, telemetric information, etc.). It will allow to increase efficiency, controllability and reliability of the operating infrastructure, will provide growth of figures of merit of power supply and will promote further improvement of the overall operational efficiency.
