2020

Coronavirus infection

On August 18, 2020, it became known that the head of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, had contracted the COVID-19 coronavirus. Prime  Minister Mikhail Mishustin told reporters about this in Blagoveshchensk. He wished the minister recovery. The positive test was carried out during a working trip to the Far East.

Unfortunately, Alexander Valentinovich Novak fell ill with coronavirus. He flew, in fact, and flew to Moscow without taking part. God grant him health, - said the head of government.

By August 18, 2020, Novak's coronavirus infection is asymptomatic, he feels good, Olga  Golant, an official representative of the Ministry of Energy, told TASS, specifying that the head of the department plans to participate on August 19 in a meeting of the OPEC + monitoring committee, which will be held in the format of a videoconference.

Earlier it was reported that some journalists of the government pool were infected with the coronavirus, who were supposed to accompany Mishustin on his trip to the Far East. In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, several correspondents isolated and delivered to Moscow by plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, under the control of doctors.

In Blagoveshchensk, several other media employees tested positive. They were also isolated and sent to the capital.

Mishustin, who had previously had a coronavirus, began a working trip to the Far Eastern regions on August 13, 2020. In addition to Novak, the heads of six ministries took part in it , including Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, as well as governors of the Far Eastern subjects of the federation. On August 12 , the plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal  District Yuri Trutnev passed a positive test for COVID-19.
