2024: A new board of directors of Rosneft has been approved. List

- academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, independent director Alexander Nekiplov;
- Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak;
- Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Maxim Oreshkin.
Mohammed bin Saleh al-Sada headed the board of directors of Rosneft in 2023. He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Doha University of Science and Technology and former Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar.

Members of the Board of Directors of Rosneft are elected by the General Meeting of Shareholders for a term up to the next annual General Meeting of Shareholders. The Board of Directors is elected with 11 members. As noted on the Rosneft website, the board of directors has an optimal ratio of executive, non-executive and independent members.[1]

At the end of June 2022, a meeting of Rosneft shareholders was held, at which the new composition of the company's board of directors was approved. Belmahdi Tayeb, a former top executive at Qatar Energy, has been elected as the new chairman. Gerhard Schroeder left the position in May 2022.

Earlier in 2022, BP Chief Executive Officer Bernard Looney, ex-head of the company Robert Dudley and former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneisl also left the board of directors of Rosneft.

2021: Election of a new board of directors

- Hans-Jörg Rudloff - Chairman of Marcuard Holding, Independent Director;
- Igor Sechin - Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the Board of Rosneft;
- Gerhard Schroeder - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nord Stream 2 AG (Switzerland), Chairman of the Shareholders Committee of Nord Stream AG (Switzerland), Independent Director.
Karin Kneisl turned out to be the only new member on the board of directors of Rosneft - the rest were re-elected for a new term. Oleg Vyugin, professor of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Higher School of Economics, did not get into the new composition from the past.
The fact that the former Austrian Foreign Minister was nominated as a candidate for the board of directors of Rosneft from the state became known in early March 2021 from the relevant order of the Government of the Russian Federation. In addition to Kneisl, the government also announced ex-Gerhard Schroeder, Matthias Warnig and Hans-Jörg Rudloff for these positions.[3]
2020
In May 2020, Rosneft proposed to maintain the remuneration of board members in 2020 at the level of 2019.
Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is offered to pay $600 thousand, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi - $530 thousand, Faizal Alsuvaidi - $530 thousand, Matthias Warnig - $580 thousand, Oleg Vyugin - $560 thousand, Hans-Jorg Rudloff - $580 thousand.
Members of the board of directors who are civil servants (Andrei Belousov, Alexander Novak), and the board of directors of the company Igor Sechin, the amount of remuneration for fulfilling the duties of members of the board of directors in 2019 is not indicated.
2019
At the end of 2019, members of the board of Rosneft received 3.545 billion rubles as remuneration. Of this amount, 1.5 billion rubles were premiums.
