2020: Increase twice reach of the Ataka-DBS complex

The Ruselectronics holding announced on August 20, 2020 State Corporation Rostec carrying out tests of the upgraded complex of counteraction to civil Ataka-DBS UAVs using new type of antennas. Results showed that reach of a complex increased almost twice regarding detection and by 2.5 times regarding suppression.

Rostec doubled reach of a system of counteraction to Ataka-DBS drones

The Ataka-DBS complex showed smooth operation in the conditions of the imitated attacks of drones from near and far distance. The maximum range of detection of the UAV was 2900 m at stated 1500 m, and the maximum range of suppression – 2500 m at stated 1000 m. Tests took place in difficult weather conditions – at strong wind gusts up to 15-20 m/s and dust storms.

The equipment in the automatic mode within 0.1 seconds detected the UAV, identified an object by the principle "-others" and made blocking of a communication channel and navigation of a kopter.

"Structures of Rostec release a wide line of means of counteraction to UAVs - it is mobile, stationary and portable systems which can work as automatically, and to be controlled manually. At the same time we continuously improve characteristics of means of fight against the UAV, increasing the range of their work, reliability, autonomy, we improve algorithms of determination of UAVs and methods of their suppression. The upgraded system allows to cover with protective "dome" the large territory. At the same time it does not break operation of surrounding communication and navigation equipment that allows to use it at the airports, city conditions, in the territory of hi-tech objects", − the industrial director of a radio-electronic complex of Rostec Sergey Sakhnenko noted.

The automated Ataka-DBS complex detects and suppresses control links in the frequency range which is used by the UAV of all-civil application − from 2 GHz to 6 GHz. A basis of a complex are modules of radio-frequency detection and suppression. According to Ruselectronics, a system can be used both in the form of an autonomous cell of suppression, and in the form of a complex of the interconnected cells closing the set perimeter. The necessary number of modules and the place of their arrangement are defined depending on characteristics of the protected object.

Demonstration of The Attack — DBS complex in operation

On May 24, 2019 the Ruselectronics Holding (enters into Rostec) showed in operation the automated complex of counteraction to UAVs "The Attack — DBS".

The Attack — DBS complex developed by the Almaz Scientific and production enterprise (enters into Ruselectronics), without participation of the operator finds the drone and identifies it by the principle "-others". If weeds the UAV over the protected section it is not authorized, then a system automatically blocks communication channels and satellite navigation of the undesirable device. The struck UAV loses touch with the control panel and depending on the programmed algorithm or returns to a start point, or makes emergency landing. The response time of a system makes 0.1 pages. At the same time "the Attack – DBS" does not break operation of surrounding communication and navigation equipment. Development already interested representatives of the airports. Also interest in a complex is shown by customers from Germany, Italy and Bulgaria.

Oleg Yevtushenko noted:

Development of unmanned aerial vehicles led to the fact that drones began to be used actively in the illegal purposes worldwide - for example, for industrial espionage, transportation or reset of compact loads and also shadowing. The provided system can be applied to suppression of unauthorized flights of the UAV in a broad spectrum of the industries. Due to modularity the system developed by us will allow to provide a no-fly zone for unauthorized drones over strictly certain territory. At the same time it will not disturb own UAVs at the expense of what the companies of fuel and energy complex which are actively using the UAV for monitoring already became interested in the released product.

"The attack is DBS" detects and suppresses control links in the frequency range which is used by the UAV of all-civil application – from 2 to 6 GHz. The complex itself notifies interested persons on an incident by means of the SMS or the electronic message.

Roman Hizhnyak told:

There is a continuous race of UAVs and the systems of counteraction. The more well there will be drones, the demand for the systems of protection against their unauthorized penetration for objects will be higher. We perfectly understand it and we do not stand still. We work on integrating self-training neural networks into a complex. Also in a stage of development there is mobile version of a complex.

In addition to a standalone mode of work, important advantage of a system is the increased architecture. "The attack is DBS" allows to use as one cell of suppression which works at distance to 1 km, and the whole complex of the interconnected cells closing the set perimeter.

The announcement of the automated complex of counteraction of the UAV

On March 20, 2019 the Rostec company reported that it of JSC NPP Almaz developed the automated complex of counteraction to the unmanned aerial vehicles available to license-free acquisition which is capable to identify accessory of the drone without participation of the operator and to stop unauthorized penetration on the territory of the protected object. Development does not break operation of surrounding communication and navigation equipment therefore it can be used at the airports, city conditions and also in territories of hi-tech objects. The company already started tests of samples of a system.

According to the company, the system which received the name "The Attack — DBS" performs the automated radio-frequency detection, blocking of the communication channels and satellite navigation used by the UAV. Under the influence of a complex the UAV loses touch with the control panel and depending on the programmed algorithm or returns to a start point, or makes emergency landing. For March, 2019 the response time of a system makes 0.1 pages.

Basis of the complex developed by JSC NPP Almaz are modules of radio-frequency detection and suppression of the UAV. Each device provides detection in a radius up to 1.5 km and suppression at distance to 1 km. A system can be used both in the form of an autonomous cell of suppression, and in the form of a complex of the interconnected cells closing the set perimeter. The necessary number of modules and the place of their arrangement are defined depending on characteristics of the protected object.
