2024: Introducing AI into handwritten and printed stamp recognition

Sinara Bank integrated technology recognitions of handwritten texts from a domestic developer - AI solutions, Smart Engines which announced this on September 30, 2024.

Artificial intelligence automatically extracts address data from handwritten and printed stamps. The high accuracy and speed of handwriting extraction make the onboarding of customers and the design of banking services faster and more comfortable.

The Bank of Sinar offices use Smart Engines for document recognition - Smart ID Engine. When scanning, handwritten text is automatically entered into the corresponding fields of the application for opening an account or receiving other banking services. Now the solution allows you to extract data from stamps.

Artificial intelligence Smart Engines recognizes text not only in printed stamps, but also those that are filled by hand. The page processing time on the mobile device is 0.4 seconds. In server solutions, tens of pages per second can be recognized without using the GPU.

The high speed of handwriting recognition is achieved through the use of 4.6 bit neural networks created by Smart Engines scientists. They are at the heart of the company's proprietary OCR technology, which provides recognition of printed and handwritten text on document pages.

Integrated technology is an on-premium solution. During image recognition, documents are not transferred to third-party services and cloud verifiers, which ensures data security.

This is a new milestone of many years of cooperation between the Bank of Sinara and Smart Engines. Earlier, the bank introduced other AI developer software products. In particular, Bank Sinara was the first Smart Engines customer to use QR code recognition technology in a mobile application. For convenient payment and transfer, bank customers can recognize phone numbers and bank cards.
