2024: Technology for authenticating automotive documents
Scientists of the Russian AI company Smart Engines have found a way to protect the domestic car market from illegal import and sale transport of funds issued in the third. countries The company introduced technology for verifying the authenticity automobile of documents and. RUSSIAN FEDERATION states CIS The solution allows you to verify the STS and TCP, identify fraud with forms and prevent illegal actions related to falsification, manufacture and circulation of forged documents. Smart Engines announced this on September 12, 2024.
The software and hardware complex, which includes Smart Engines software and a multispectral scanner from the domestic manufacturer Intek Group, instantly extracts data from documents and checks them for authenticity and validity. The entire scanning and verification process takes up to 10 seconds, ensuring fast and accurate validation of the automotive document.
Artificial intelligence checks the originality and security of the document form, protective fluorescent fibers and ink, special printing paper, detects signs of mechanical intervention, and so on. The complex allows verification of STS and CAT taking into account the specifics of registration and protection of automobile documents in different states.
As a rule, vehicle passports and registration documents for cars - regardless of country - are made in accordance with the principles of protected printing on state-issued forms. The protective elements used on them must be checked using specialized equipment. We solved this problem: our technology allows us to verify the authenticity of the TCP and STS of the CIS countries in seconds. In the future, we can scale it by adding sample documents from all countries of the world, "said Vladimir Arlazarov, CEO of Smart Engines, Doctor of Technical Sciences. |
The software solution is based on a fast, compact and accurate model of deep learning. Document recognition and processing takes place automatically in the customer's contour, without transferring images to cloud services and external servers.
2019: PAK announcement based on PS-4 document scanner and Smart Document Forensics software
On May 29, 2019, it became known that the Russian developer of software in the field of image recognition and processing Smart Engines and the domestic manufacturer of products in the fields of biometrics, RFID and passport systems "Intek" created a software and hardware solution (PAC) for automatic reading of data from documents and verifying their authenticity. According to the developers, this is the first completely domestic solution of this kind. Smart Engines also notes that PAC is compatible with the domestic protected platforms Elbrus and Komdiv.
The solution can be used for control at the border, at airports, train stations, checkpoints at important facilities, as well as other points for checking certification documents, representatives of Smart Engines explained. As of May 2019, it allows you to check the internal and foreign passports of a Russian citizen, as well as a driver's license. In the future, the list of checked documents can be expanded.
The hardware included in the complex is a PS-4 passport and visa document scanner developed by the Intek group. This is a special three-band scanner that allows you to obtain images of the document in three ranges: optical, infrared (IF) and ultraviolet (UV).
Software PAC - Smart Document Forensics - was developed by Smart Engines specialists based on the image recognition platform. Hieroglyph With the help algorithms artificial intelligence of this software, it is able to detect signs of compromise of documents on images obtained in the visible, IR and UV ranges. Smart Document Forensic independently processes images received in different ranges and checks for authenticity signs in each of them. Thus, in ultraviolet light, the luminescence of the corresponding elements of the blank is monitored, in the infrared range, the visibility of special elements of the document is checked, and in the optical range, the characteristic features of the document design and the analysis of the recognition results are checked.
The development of the scanner and software for it, as representatives of Smart Engines explained, was carried out without involvement, state financings at the expense of the company's internal funds. The size of investments in the project was not disclosed.[1]
