The program allows police to connect the smartphone to the computer with the necessary software at any time and to take all these devices. The Chinese Internet users complained that the police install the MFSocket application on smartphones without the permission of owners — often during daily actions, such as verification of documents in the subway. It is supposed that the MFSocket application was developed by the Chinese company on the electronic criminalistic researches Meiya Pico. The company refused to answer questions of journalists.

In a separate research the German company Cure53 specializing in information security in cooperation with Motherboard, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Guardian, the New York Times and the German telecaster of NDR found out that the Chinese police also install the software for extraction of data on phones on border between Xinjiang and Central Asia. Software is established on smartphones of the foreign tourists and dealers crossing border and transfers such data as magazines of calls, text messages and contacts to the local police server.

The application called by Fengcai or BXAQ also checks files on phones according to the list from more than 70,000 "prohibited" files and, apparently, is used secretly - is established, used and removed for one session.[1]
