On July 8, 2019 the Termolazer company provided a mobile laser complex for thermal hardening of surfaces of parts. Processing by the laser allows to prolong product service life several times.

According to the company, the mobile complex consists of the robotic manipulator and the 3-5 kW diode laser. The laser modules used in construction allow to perform thermal hardening, laser building up by special powders and welding. Depending on features of production the complex can be equipped with additional cameras, sensors, scanners and controllers.

Laser tempering – a method of hardening became. It increases wear resistance of parts without flow of a surface and violation of geometry. Till July, 2019 similar works could be carried out only in stationary conditions. The mobile complex will allow to process large-size parts which difficult or cannot be transported – for example, turbines of power plants and components of an onboard covering of the ships.

Laser tempering takes place in two stages. At heat treatment the laser beam heats external layers of a product with a speed about 730 ˚C per second. Then there is a fast cooling allowing to create tough martensitic structure. Depending on material and a form of a product, its operation life at laser tempering increases by 1.6-5 times. The enterprises of Rostec already use this technology, in particular, for processing of the parts applied in military industrial complex, the oilfield service industry and mechanical engineering.
