Running Java Programmer Certification
The IBS training center, the Skolkovo Foundation's IT cluster and the Axiom JDK team, the developer of the domestic Java platform, were the first in Russia to launch certification of Java programmers. Axiom JDK announced this on February 14, 2023. The domestic certification system will allow specialists to confirm their level of knowledge and skills in the programming language. And companies will be able to audit the qualifications of employees and speed up import substitution projects in accordance with the requirements of regulators.
The domestic certification system for Java developers is designed to replace Oracle products that have become unavailable and fully meets the needs of the Russian market and the standards of the international industry. According to IBS, about 10 thousand Java programmers are certified annually in Russia.
The key advantage of certification is a focus on applied aspects, which allows you to test not only theoretical knowledge, but also the knowledge of modern tools for Java development, relevant for Russian ITindustries-.
Participants will have access to the tools of the Java Axiom JDK Pro development and execution environment, which is included in the register of Russian software. Testing will take place in Russian, which will facilitate the certification process and increase its availability.
For February 2023, the program offers three certificate options. The basic level certification is focused on junior developers and allows them to officially confirm their knowledge of the fundamental aspects of the Java language for differentiation in the labor market. The "Specialist" level certification is designed for widdle-level developers and includes knowledge of the basics of the language and application aspects. Certification at the "Advanced" level is focused on Senior engineers and tests knowledge of advanced class design, collections from the Java Collection Framework, functional programming with the Java Stream API, creating multithreaded applications, and much more. Certification is available in full-time format in three cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg and Omsk.
{{quote 'In 2022, most IT education providers managed to replace the training of foreign vendors with domestic trainings. Now the question has arisen of an objective and independent assessment of IT specialists, which in February 2023 is very difficult or generally impossible to satisfy through the international certification network built over the years. Based on more than 20 years of experience in training and evaluating IT specialists, we have prepared domestic certification for Java developers, which is designed to replace the inaccessible Western counterpart. Our partner was a team of engineers from Axiom JDK, the Russian Java runtime environment. In the future, we plan to create a consortium that will become a generally recognized platform for coordinating market players and further developing such services in Russia, "said Vladimir Gerner, director of the IBS training center. }}
The Skolkovo Foundation, as a development institute, is ready to take an active part in the creation of an all-Russian IT certification system. We see our role in the task of combining the expertise of IT companies, training centers, on the one hand, and employers' requests for well-trained IT personnel, on the other. The creation of a generally recognized certification system will be an important step in the development of the Russian IT market, "commented Natalya Tsarevskaya-Dyakina, Director of SK Edtech Hub. |
{{quote 'The domestic Java certification system solves the tasks set by the government to attract competent specialists to the IT industry. The demand for Java developers is always high. For February 2023, this technology is used everywhere - from government and banking systems, mobile and gaming applications to processing big data, gas production and finding life on Mars. The launch of certification with the support of engineers of the Russian Java platform will allow by the end of 2023 to certify several thousand Java specialists who are ready to solve a large range of problems. Among them are the development of new progressive domestic systems in server, cloud and IoT applications, support for existing Java projects and migration from foreign platforms to ensure import substitution standards. We are glad to provide our expertise and trusted products for these urgent and responsible tasks, - noted "'Roman Karpov, Director of Strategy and Technology Development at Axiom JDK. .}}
