2022: Organization of seamless connection to Wi-Fi

Maxima Telecom, a public Wi-Fi network operator and rolling stock digital service provider, and the Moscow Department of Transport have simplified connection to the MT FREE network and provided seamless Wi-Fi access for passengers when transferring to the metro. The company "Maxima Telecom" announced this on December 6, 2022.

Now Wi-Fi users in the ground transport Moscow when transferring to the metro do not need to go through a second one, authorization entering the metro train car. Also, passengers will be able to continue using the service without interrupting Internet the session when transferring from one metro line to another. In this case, the subscriber's mobile device MT FREE networks is connected to automatically. This will allow passengers to continue using free Wi-Fi as usual without taking additional action.

In addition, it became possible to connect to the MT_FREE without changing the network settings on the smartphone when you first log on to the network. Earlier, in order to connect to the network for the first time, each user needed to go to the Wi-Fi settings on the mobile device and change them. Now our new users just need to register online and use the Internet.

The Track Side Network is used as a technology for organizing radio communications inside moving trains. It provides a reliable signal in the difficult conditions of the metro infrastructure and the uninterrupted operation of service and passenger services, such as video broadcasts on screens in cars.

A single Wi-Fi MT_FREE network in Moscow is available on the MCC, MCD, buses and electric buses of main routes, trains CPPK and Aeroexpress.

2020: Plans to install an additional 430 Wi-Fi hotspots

On February 26, 2020, Maxima Telecom announced that in 2020 it will additionally install 430 access points to free Wi-Fi on trains of Moscow central diameters. In addition, 1.2 thousand screens with online television broadcasting will appear in the compositions.

Since the launch of traffic along the Moscow central diameters in MCD trains, passengers have connected to free Wi-Fi 702 thousand times. The number of connections to the MT FREE network in electric trains running along the MCD has grown 2.8 times in two months.

For two months of operation of diameters, Wi-Fi at the MCD was more often used by men aged 25 to 34 years. At the same time, twice as many devices were registered on the network Android (68%) as on (iOS 32%).

To connect to free Wi-Fi in Moscow transport, you need to go through identification once using your phone number or through the Public services portal. Users who have already been authenticated on MT_FREE networks do not need to go through again.
