2018: Names of key executives in Russia announced

The Wavemaker agency, formed as a result of the merger of two media agencies MAXUS and MEC, which are part of the GroupM holding (owned by WPP), has announced the names of key leaders in the Russian market. Earlier it was reported only about the appointment of the general director (Chief Executive Officer) of the agency - Natalia Kiryanova, who previously served as deputy general director of MEC. Under  her leadership, the launch of the combined Wavemaker structure is taking place.

Former MEC managing partner Maria Fedynskaya became Chief Operating Officer of the new agency. At Wavemaker, she will be responsible for the development and implementation of business processes in a new structure related to the automation of operations, the introduction of a corporate culture and increased efficiency of interaction with customers.

Former Maxus Development Director Mikhail Kuzminov has been appointed Chief Market Development Officer. He will oversee the departments of new business, developing relationships with current clients in conjunction with client groups, strengthening the agency product, as well as internal and external marketing of the Wavemaker agency and new positioning.

In the positions of Business Lead, Ekaterina Vavilkina will work with a client of Johnson & Johnson, Nikolay Kuznetsov and Valeria Mikhailova - with other clients of the agency.

Former Director of the Department of Analytics, Research and Strategy of MEC Dmitry Tikhankov will head the areas of strategic planning and development of Wavemaker content as Chief Strategy Officer.

Irina Rodionova, who previously managed the financial and commercial areas of MEC, took over at Wavemaker as Chief Financial & Commercial Officer.

2017

In December 2017, it became known that the MEC and Maxus agencies, part of the advertising holding GroupM (owned by WPP), merged into the Wavemaker agency. In Russia, Natalia Kiryanova, who previously served as Deputy General Director of MEC, has been appointed General Director of Wavemaker.

Natalia Kiryanova, who headed Wavemaker in Russia, began her career at a local full-cycle Russian agency, continuing her development at the international network agency OMD Media Direction. She joined MEC in 2006, taking the position of strategic director, and then was appointed managing partner, having time to work with large international clients in the sectors of FMCG, retail, pharmaceuticals and luxury brands. Since 2016, Natalya Kiryanova served as Deputy Director General of the MEC agency.

Creating Wavemaker Globally

Globally, Wavemaker, which was announced in the summer of 2017, is positioned as an agency with an innovative view of media, content and technology. It was announced that it would have representative offices in 90 countries of the world: 8500 people will work in 139 offices.
