2020: Announcement of Flussonic Coder

On September 23, 2020 the Erlivideo company presented the transcoder – Flussonic Coder, with the motherboard which is specially created for it – Lontra.

Flussonic Coder

According to the company, this development has several additional potential at once. First, Coder is entirely developed in Russia, including the motherboard and the software. When developing requirements were considered and tasks of clients were deeply analyzed. The made server completely is controlled far off. Thirdly, the server has seamless processing of switching of sources, thanks to it there is smooth reconfiguration without loss of a uniform frame (if the main source of a signal is disconnected, the coder seamlessly switches to reserve).

Flussonic Coder has potential of use of the LLDP protocol, it allows network equipment to interact with the equipment working in the local area network (to transfer it the characteristics and also to receive from it data). It is made in order that Coder knew everything about an environment in which works. As well as the previous version, the transcoder has necessary energy efficiency (the total power consumption of a system at an overall load is about 100 W).

The motherboard of own development of Erlivideo company – Lontra became a crucial element of the transcoder. One of its main opportunities is – separate management of a cluster of SOC Jetson which in turn is responsible for processing of video. The present possibility allows to configure, include, disconnect and reboot separate modules, without the need for decommissioning of all server entirely.

Together with Flussonic Coder, users have an opportunity to use video analytics of Flussonic Watcher (the software package installed on servers and the client's cameras for broadcast of video, record and providing remote access to the distributed IP cameras and archive).
