2020: Development of the system project of ICT infrastructure for a Universiade in Yekaterinburg

The Rostelecom company announced on December 2, 2020 that it by request of the Ministry of digital development, communication and mass communications of the Russian Federation develops the system project of information and communication and telecommunication infrastructure for the XXXII World summer Universiade of 2023 in Yekaterinburg. The cost of works will be 23.3 million rubles.

"Information telecommunication systems are an essential part of effective and safe holding the Universiade. The concept of creation of information and communication, telecommunication and broadcasting infrastructure prepared Mintsifra of Russia and the regional government for the purpose of preparation and holding the Universiade will give a powerful incentive to development of economy of Yekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk region. Therefore we have very high requirements to techniques of inspection of the existing infrastructure and also creation of the system project which is on implementation phase. The fact that these works are conducted by Rostelecom — the digital provider who already have similar work experience in Krasnoyarsk — a guarantee of high quality and competence" — the deputy governor of Sverdlovsk region Oleg Chemezov noted.

"A Universiade-2023 — a milestone event of the region. It is important to us to create the detailed and large-scale project which will become a basis of digital development of key sporting, logistic and educational objects of Yekaterinburg and area. The main part of the developed solutions can be used and further. For example, unrolled within the Unified information system project with the operational center for holding actions will be able effectively to coordinate work of city departments and services after the end of the Universiade" — the vice president — the director of macroregional branch "Ural" of PJSC Rostelecom Sergey Gusev considers.

Till December 14, 2020 technical specialists of the company will create system projects for different blocks: from services for registration of participants and volunteers, armoring and sale of tickets to the organization of broadcasts of competitions data storage video surveillances, ensuring secure access on stadiums "Yekaterinburg Arena" and Kalininets, "Yekaterinburg Expo", transport hubs (Koltsovo airport and the railway station), objects of the village of the Universiade.
