Project date: 2020/08  - 2021/01

2021: Creation of LTE network

JSC Greenatom, IT integrator of Rosatom, and PJSC MTS, the Russian company on providing digital, media and telecommunication services, within a pilot project deployed several digital services based on the selected LTE network, in the territory of the Kochubeevsky wind power station of JSC Novavind merging wind power assets of Rosatom. In the future such network can be quickly scaled to standard 5G. Greenatom reported about it on February 11, 2021.

The wireless network selected (private) built on the equipment of network of package switching Ericsson Enterprise Core (4G-5G NSA) and radio subsystems Ericsson Radio System Macro, integrated various technology services: an operative group communication (Push-to-Talk, Push-to-Video) and geopositioning of terminals, video surveillance and to the analyst on the basis of an intelligent system of recognition of video and receiving information about use of individual protection equipment, observance of regulations on labor safety and others data. Besides, on network the Removed Assistant system allowing with the help AR- points was involved not only to control workflows, but also to perform remote demonstration of wind power objects, video and photofixing in high quality within acceptance tests.

Private LTE unrolled on an object worked in the combined mode and had connection to public LTE network MTS.

For nuclear sector implementation of technologies with a possibility of transition to a 5G is not only multiple fall forward of start of digital services, such as Internet of Things VRAR,/, intellectual video surveillance robotization, but also observance of all security requirements for which reference level nuclear sector is known. Besides, the network built using domestic components will provide smooth and safe integration technology innovations with the existing industry telecommunication infrastructure. And IoT-collecting devices of telemetry and other digital services connected to the single protected network will allow to automate a number of processes, having lowered thereby load of personnel, – the CIO of Rosatom noted Evgeny Abakumov.

Private LTE is not only the technology allowing to improve qualitatively capacity and to increase data transfer rate, but also real need for large production facilities. Greenatom as IT integrator of Rosatom is going to unroll LTE networks at the enterprises of nuclear sector, and for February, 2021 we pass to a stage of conceptual design within this project, – the director of information technology of JSC Greenatom Andrey Kiselyov noted.

Communication loss inevitably leads to loss of management, and these are serious risks for security, terms and workflow in general. The network should be stable and reliable. Start of a wind power station – the complex process requiring rather high level of technology communication, – the head of department of information technologies of JSC Novavind Dmitry Nikolin noted.

Together with technology partners Ericsson participates in a number of projects on implementation of technologies 4G/5G in power industry in the different countries of the world. Implementable solutions provide the digital connectivity of wind turbines — it allows to reduce operating expenses of fiber optic infrastructure and creation of a mobile backbone network of data collection along the power transmission line and also guarantees reliability of transfer of crucial information among employees within the closed circuit of the company. Technologies of Ericsson improve working conditions and supplement ecological advantages of renewable energy sources — the area director of technology networks of Ericsson company Alexander Romanov told.
