Launch RFID tag Z1885M-34D "Scorpion"

A resident of the special economic zone of Moscow, a manufacturer and exporter of microelectronics - the Micron plant has developed and launched into mass production an RFID label of the Scorpion Z1885M-34D, designed to mark metal and glass surfaces. Among existing miniature labels of this type, this product has a maximum reading range of information. The plant announced this on July 21, 2021.

In the cluster of microelectronics, optics and robotics, as of July 2021, 35 residents of the special economic zone work. In the first quarter of 2021 alone, they produced products worth 2.6 billion rubles, while a significant part of this volume fell on one of the largest chip manufacturers in the country - the Micron company. The company is actively developing, constantly offering the market innovative developments. So, these marks with small dimensions are able to read information at a distance of up to 7.5 meters, usually for products of this size the range does not exceed two meters, "said Alexander Prokhorov, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

The dimensions of the presented mark are 182 × 75 × 1 mm, it operates in the range of 860 - 960 MHz.

Scorpion Z1885M-34D is already the third product in the line of self-adhesive UHF RFID marks for marking metal objects manufactured by the company. In total, the company's portfolio for July 2021 has more than 200 labels of various types and modifications.

Thanks to its miniature size, the tags will be effective for automating production and logistics processes, warehousing, inventory, controlling counterfeit products, controlling access to various objects and storage units, "said Gennady Degtev, head of the Moscow Technopolice SEZ.

The ultra-high frequency mark is well read on glass surfaces, including containers with liquids.

For the maximum reading range with the minimum dimensions, we used in this label an additional matching element of the antenna, closing on the metallized substrate of the label itself at the time of application to the object. This design of the label determined its trade name - "Scorpion," - said the head of the RFID laboratory of the company "Micron" Alexey Markin.

Launch of radio frequency tags for metal

On April 8, 2021, it became known that the company Micron"" developed and launched mass production RFID labels for markings metal, said head Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Alexander Prokhorov.

RFID tags for metal marking

As explained, RFID tags are intended for use in the automation of operational and technological processes, in infrastructure and to logistics other systems that require marking of metal surfaces, equipment, parts, tools and other objects. identifications

These tags work on both metal and glass surfaces, said Sergey Ranchin, Deputy General Director for Production of Micron PJSC.

For this product, we designed a five-level structure that provides stable reading on metal surfaces as well as on glass containers with liquid. Micron's product portfolio includes 6 labels for metal, both packaged and self-adhesive, which gives a choice of functionality for automation tasks.

RFID marking has a number of capabilities, including group and blind reading at a distance, strength and resistance to impacts, the possibility of personification, the impossibility of counterfeiting, which makes it a convenient tool wherever you need to digitize physical objects - from factories and farms to stadiums, libraries and shopping centers.

2018: Series production of RFID tags for metal

Micron in January 2018 completed development, testing and began mass production of RFID tags for marking metal products. Labels are available in four form factors for high-frequency and ultra-high-frequency operation.

File:Aquote1.png
The RFID tag for metal is one of the most complex in design, since the metal surface on which the RFID tag is applied absorbs energy, and the tag does not respond to the reader. At the same time, this product has a wide range of applications, it can be used in a number of solutions - for combating counterfeit, logistics, warehouse accounting, distribution control and marketing tasks. Therefore, it was important to complete all measures for the development and testing of the product as soon as possible, "said Alexei Markin, head of the Micron RFID laboratory.

To neutralize the negative effect of metal in UHF labels, a special densifier made of foamed polyethylene was used, which ensured the distance between the antenna and the metal surface of the product necessary for the operability of the label. In HF tags, a ferromagnet was used to prevent the spread of electromagnetic waves. Thus, sustained operation of all types of labels, confirmed in laboratory tests, was achieved.
