2023: Putin allows Gazprom International to get 100% of Gazprom Zarubezhneftegaz
The President Russia Vladimir Putin signed an order that he allowed Gazprom International Limited to acquire 100% of the shares of the subsidiary Gazprom Gazprom Zarubezhneftegaz. The corresponding document was published on November 8, 2023.
It clarifies that Gazprom International can carry out operations that entail the emergence of ownership, use and disposal of 100% of ordinary shares of Gazprom Zarubezhneftegaz.
Gazprom International is Gazprom's specialized company for the search and acquisition of oil and gas assets with high technical and economic indicators in friendly countries. Its main tasks include the implementation and management of assets in the interests of the Gazprom Group, as well as the representation of its interests in relations with foreign companies. Through subsidiaries, Gazprom International owns 14 assets in eight countries, as well as a number of promising development assets. Key among them are projects in Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Algeria, Libya, Bolivia, as well as activities on the North Sea shelf (by November 2023).
Gazprom Zarubezhneftegaz is a 100% subsidiary of Gazprom, which conducts oil and gas production in Central and Southeast Asia, India, as well as in Venezuela.
1998-2014
Gazprom Zarubezhneftegaz was established in 1998 by Gazprom together with RVO Zarubezhneft and OJSC Stroytransgaz to participate in foreign projects. In 2007, Gazprom bought 100% of the company's shares. A subsidiary of Gazprom International appeared at Gazprom in 2011. Over the next three years, the corporation conducted a merger of the two businesses. They provide activities in Europe, Central and Southeast Asia, India, and Venezuela.
