As part of the project, LANIT - Bi Pi Em developed an employee portal where all information about the bank's customers is accumulated, taking into account the history of interaction and the list of applications submitted. A distinctive feature of the application was the implementation of customer identification according to the QR code (Kuwait uses the electronic passport format in the form of a QR code).

The project was implemented in six months. As a result of the implementation of the Universal Banking business application, bank employees were able to qualitatively increase the level of customer service. As part of the project, prepaid and credit card issuance processes were optimized. At the same time, it became possible to prepare all the documents and issue a new card at the time the client contacted the bank branch.

The first stage of digital transformation

Lanit-Bi Pi Em (part of the Lanit Group), an expert in the field of analysis, intelligent automation and transformation of corporate business processes, completed the first stage of the digital transformation of Boubyan Bank (Kuwait). This was reported on May 24, 2021 in Lanita.

Boubyan Bank operates in the Islamic banking segment in the Middle East and offers a full range of services for legal entities and individuals. As part of the digital transformation, the bank sets ambitious goals and plans to implement a large-scale Universal Banking project, which is designed to fundamentally change the approach to customer service. According to the objectives of the project, employees should get a convenient modern interface for work and the ability to serve customers from a tablet without being tied to a stationary computer. However, the previous version of the Pega platform did not allow to fully realize all the goals that the bank set for itself.

In January 2021, Lanit-Bi Pi Em began the Universal Banking project. The main task of the first stage is to upgrade the Pega platform from version 7.4 to 8.5. The team conducted an audit of the existing system in six weeks, prepared a work plan for updating the platform, carried out the necessary refinement and update of the platform, stabilized the operation of applications and put the update into industrial operation. The update of the platform made it possible to optimize the system, make all technological capabilities available and lay the foundation for further stages of the project. The first phase has been completed and companies are moving on to the next phase of the project.
