2021: Equipping ICL laptops with Astra Linux OS for large families of Krasnoyarsk Krai

On June 1, 2021, the Astra Linux group of companies, a player in the domestic market for secure operating systems and virtualization platforms, and the Russian computer manufacturer ICL Techno reported that more than 7,000 ICL laptops with an installed general-purpose operating system Astra Linux Common Edition were transferred to large families of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Computer equipment was obtained by families with three or more school-age children and no financial opportunity to fully provide their education.

The first batch of 1930 laptops was sent to families who live in the cities of Krasnoyarsk, Divnogorsk and Sosnovoborsk, as well as in the ZATO Zheleznogorsk and the central regions of the region: Balakhtinsky, Novoselovsky, Berezovsky, Emelyanovsky and Sukhobuzimsky. Another 5330 devices were received by families from other municipalities in the region.

Laptops created at the ICL Techno factory have all the qualities that are needed to fulfill school educational tasks. They have high performance, allow you to work simultaneously in several applications and are equipped with reliable batteries that allow you to work autonomously without recharging up to 8 hours. In addition, ICL solutions meet federal educational standards, and they are served by more than 100 service centers in the Russian Federation.

Astra Linux Common Edition is a universal operating system with wide functionality that allows you to solve almost any everyday tasks. The OS includes a browser, mail and a complete set of tools for working with documents, graphics and multimedia.

The transfer of laptops passes through regional social services institutions as part of a cooperation agreement that the Krasnoyarsk Territory administration concluded in 2018 with Rosneft. In addition to aspects related to the main activities of the corporation, the document implies the allocation of budgets for the social needs of the region.

Face-to-face training also requires the preparation of reports and abstracts, presentations, the search for additional information on subjects, and just the ability to use various computer programs. Every child needs it. Unfortunately, not all large families can provide children with modern devices, and if there are three schoolchildren at once, then a special approach is clearly required. I am grateful to Rosneft, which not only implements the largest production projects in the territory of the region, but also is actively included in the resolution of social issues within the framework of the cooperation agreement with the region, "said the Governor of the region Alexander Uss.
