2022: Introduction of Axelot WMS X5 at a warehouse in Novosibirsk

AXELOT announced on October 5, 2022 that IN-HOME continues to implement AXELOT WMS X5 in its warehouses - a new implementation took place at a warehouse in Novosibirsk.

The dynamic development of the business, the constant emergence of updated models and growing demand eventually led IN-HOME management to decide to move to another, larger warehouse, and at the same time automate warehouse logistics. AXELOT helped to prepare the IN-HOME warehouse using the AXELOT WMS X5 system.

The experience gained in working together on the project and the results achieved gave an additional impetus to the continuation of cooperation. In the first half of 2022, the replication of the AXELOT WMS X5 system at the IN-HOME warehouse in Novosibirsk was completed. Business processes here are almost identical to the pilot site in Moscow time, noticeable differences occurred only in the size of the warehouse and in the organization of topology. But thanks to the flexibility of configuring AXELOT WMS X5 and easy scalability, the project team easily adapted the system to other conditions.

The introduction of WMS made it possible to get away from the paper technology. If earlier time employees had to check with printed documents, now all warehouse operations, at all stages from receipt to shipment, are carried out using collection terminals, data which instantly allow you to read information and transfer it for processing to the system. There are no unproductive transactions related to the maintenance of paper documents.

Also, as in the warehouse in the Moscow region, the system was integrated with the CIS through DATAREON ESB. And since the customer already had experience in implementing this service data bus, IN-HOME specialists easily completed the integration on their own. The introduction of AXELOT WMS X5 made it possible to automate the processes of movement, selection, placement, control of shipment and replenishment, increase the transparency of business processes, update inventory and eliminate dependence on the human factor.

As a result of the project, IN-HOME transferred another warehouse under the control of AXELOT WMS X5 and plans for the company to extend this warehouse automation standard to the site in Vladivostok.

2021: Axelot WMS X5 launch at the company's warehouse

On August 23, 2021, Axelot announced the launch of In-Home's warehouse in just a few days. The project has adopted a flexible approach with the training of personnel to work with the system being implemented in the old warehouse, together with the parallel preparation of a new site, careful study of the stages of system start-up and optimal use of resources.

In-Home is engaged in the manufacture and sale of a wide range of LED products for household and professional purposes. In-Home uses state-of-the-art technology, proven materials, and robust assembly and multi-level product quality control.

The business is developing quite dynamically, the assortment has expanded, the flow has increased and, as a result, the company needed more storage space. The solution was to move to a warehouse in Domodedovo (White Pillars, Radius) with an area of 10,000 sq.m. The company-level warehouse needed automation using a state-of-the-art software solution.

The Axelot and In-Home collaboration took place as part of the introduction of the Axelot WMS X5 system.

Automation tasks were simple - to optimize the performance of all major warehouse processes. Of much greater interest is the stage of preparation for the start of the system and the training of personnel to work in the system on the basis of the old warehouse.

Sequence of personnel training and system start-up stages was worked out during the inspection of the warehouse, and in the future during the formation document of the methodology of putting into commercial operation. This was a ready-made action plan that allowed the work to be implemented strictly on schedule and with optimal use of resources.

For the "sandbox" created on the basis of the old warehouse, workers were modeled locations, warehouse topology similar to the new site is organized and configured. In this way, all business processes that are automated within the project have been modeled and tested in operational mode.

The move to the warehouse in Domodedovo was scheduled for the long May holidays. To meet this "lull period," project teams had to clearly withstand the project deadlines both in terms of integration development (Axelot WMS X5 integrated with the customer's corporate information system using Datareon ESB) and in terms of setting up and testing functionality.

In parallel with the development, active preparation work was carried out. Axelot specialists remotely provided support for warehouse labeling and setting up printers. Also, questions were worked out about the strategy for placing various groups of goods already on the new site.

Special attention was paid to organizing the move from one site to another. In at the time of the move, employees were divided into two groups - one remained on the old one warehouse for loading, the second, most, expected the arrival of goods in a new warehouse.

Simultaneously with the move, an inventory of the warehouse was also carried out. Prior to implementation The WMS system process was very time-consuming and required a suspension of shipments. Now the employees had only to accept the goods in the warehouse and immediately place it according to the established strategies.

Thanks to the previously conducted sandbox training, the staff arrived for a new The warehouse is fully prepared for the start of work in the WMS system. In the shortest possible time, in just 3-4 days, the entire volume of goods was transported (about 7000 paletomest), recalculated and placed based on maximum storage utilization.

Further, the operation of the warehouse began in normal mode. Thus, a flexible approach to the organization of the process made it possible not to lose resources at the stage of relocation and complete the task on time.

The launch of Axelot WMS X5 allowed:

  • in the first week after launch, reach the level of cargo processing corresponding to the old site;
  • Monitor employee performance across all operations
  • to see promptly the remaining goods in the warehouse in the context of batches and various qualities;
  • Schedule most tasks automatically.

Almost immediately, the development of KPI modules and the introduction of automatic deadline management were also planned, since thanks to the quick and trouble-free implementation of the system, the project team has such an opportunity in terms of temporary resources. In-Home management is also considering the possibility of replicating the Axelot WMS X5.
