2024: Inclusion in the Register of Russian Software

The information system for optimizing transport costs and modeling the flows of separately collected waste using artificial intelligence technologies was included in the Register of Russian software. The developer announced this on July 16, 2024.

The system optimizes the costs of transporting separately collected municipal solid waste. To do this, it takes into account data from sensors placed in garbage cans and from sensors for loading dump trucks, predicts the time of their full filling and creates optimal routes.

For operation, AI uses such data as the type of waste, its morphological composition before and after sorting, volume, mass, type of vehicles, capacity of waste treatment objects, length of transport shoulders and other variable interdependent parameters.

I am glad to note that this is already the 18th decision of Etton, which was included in the register of domestic software. We continue to adhere to the strategy of creating import-independent industry products for the environment, the oil and gas sector, state and corporate information systems and remain in demand in these areas, - commented Efim Klimov, General Director of Etton Group of Companies.

2021: AI-based technology development for waste management industry

The project of the Etton team to model waste transportation routes using artificial intelligence technology will receive a subsidy from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The solution proposed by the company will optimize the cost of transporting separately collected waste. The project will be implemented jointly with the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of Innopolis University. This was announced on December 10, 2021 in the Etton group of companies.

With the growing awareness of the population in environmental issues and the popularization of separate waste collection, container sites will be equipped with the possibility of separate collection of useful components of municipal solid waste, such as glass, plastic, packaging (cardboard), etc.

When garbage is sorted not by two fractions, but by all existing types of fractions, there will be a real need for waste disposal as containers fill. At what frequency do you release containers with batteries, and at what frequency do you release containers with plastic? How to build routes of special vehicles taking into account the different filling of containers? Answers to these questions can be obtained using a neural network that will allow processing data, building an electronic model for different stages of handling separately collected waste. AI technology will help solve the problem of processing parameters that are difficult to predict in conditions of separate collection of MSW by existing mathematical methods and hardware.

According to Etton CEO Efim Klimov, the development will remove the technological barrier in the issue of separate collection and processing of garbage, because so far neither the market nor the regulatory framework is ready for this. The presence of the system, an understanding of the mechanics of its work will bring the separate collection and processing of garbage closer and speed up its implementation, the top manager is convinced.

For operation, AI will use such data as the type of waste, its morphological composition before and after sorting, volume, mass, type of vehicles, power of objects, waste treatment length of transport shoulders and other variable interdependent parameters.

"The system will take into account data from sensors in garbage cans and data from sensors loading dump trucks and predict the time of their full filling. Due to this, it will be possible to optimally lay routes with the lowest costs: for example, the system predicts that in 30 minutes an additional 8 tanks will be filled, and now only one is filled, so you need to leave later for 15 minutes, "said Ilya Ivanov, an analyst at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Innopolis University.

The competition was held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade Russia in order to stimulate the creation and development of production of high-tech industrial products using digital platforms and software products. This event is being implemented within the framework of the state program to promote scientific research and experimental developments in civil industries. industries
